Our next cruise ports out of Miami, which is new to us. We have always used SW. However just checking pricing right now flying into FLL is really expensive, and long, no direct flights. AirTran goes to West Palm Beach, how far is that from Miami? I don't really care for the flight times of AirTran either. There either really early, or really late. Plus I'm a nervous flyer,so the quicker the better. Were not veteran flyer's,and have only flown from CMH to MCO. I'ts only a 2hr10mn flight nonstop.

According to mapquest, from port to PB airport it's 70 to 75 miles depending on the route. FLL is 25 miles.

The only little bit of advice I can offer is that when we've booked with Airtran we always end up with our flight times being changed and it's only happened with Southwest once.
However, they have both been good about rebooking us no charge to a better flight when they've changed our flight times.
I am imagining it's going to be about equal with Southwest now operating Airtran.
I would stick with the best time and direct flight when flying to meet a cruise. Especially if you are a nervous flyer. Just my opinion:)
