I'm kinda confused :confused3 with they Airtran seating fees and priority fees. We have 2 planes to get there and back so does that mean we pay the 4 times? We are doing magical express so I want to keep our carry on luggage with us on the way there. So should we do the seat fee and priority fee to on the way to Disney to make sure we keep the carry on's? And on the way back just do the seat fee since I don't care if we have to check it. Thank you for your help. Sometimes it gets stressful being the family group travel agent :)

You only pay once, not for each leg of a trip. So you'd pay for seat assignments on the way there and on the way back.

Having a seat assignment has nothing to do with checking luggage or not. If the plane is full and you're in a late boarding group, seat assignment or not, you may have to gate check your carry on luggage.

Is the priority fee you're talking about the fee to get in an early boarding group? If so, that would help ensure you can keep your carryon luggage.

I just flew AirTran this past week. Flew from Boston to Ft Lauderdale, with a connection in Atlanta. I did pay for advance seat assignments..but paid for each way, not each leg. I did decide to pay for priority boarding since I was going with carryon only. Only one leg was it an issue. My flight from Boston to Atlanta wasn't very crowded, and I had chosen a seat in the back....no one around me at all, just FA's. It was sooooo nice. But, my Atlanta to FtLauderdale flight was much more crowded. While I had no one in the middle seat, it was hard for those boarding half way through the proceedure to find overhead space close to their seats!! I was glad I had paid for priority boarding. It's in zone 2 and you get to board right after the business class people.
For my flights home yesterday, again, no one in the seats next to me, on either leg. But, the flight from Ft Lauderdale to Atlanta was pretty crowded...again, not a ton of overhead space was available to those boarding towards the end.

I guess that if you have a lot of carryon (with a largish group of more than 3), I might recommend buying the priority boarding just to be sure you get overhead space. I believe it was $10 each way. Not a biggie.

I have to say that the times I've flown AirTran (to FLL) have been very good experiences.

Thank You!! We have a total of 10 of us. We have kids flying with us so the seat reservation we'll do. And it sounds like the priority boarding would be a wise thing to do since the flights are already looking 3/4 full and we still have 3 months till trip.

Ok I am confused now - in your first post you say, "We are doing magical express so I want to keep our carry on luggage with us on the way there."

With ten people doing Magical Express and children what does doing Magical Express have to do with wanting to keep your luggage carry on?

I understand if you don't want to spend the money to check the bags but coralling ten people, kids, and luggage through an airport is a bit of a pain in my opinion and checking it or not has nothing to do with Magical Express.

I check mine alot and pick it up and take ME. I check it sometimes and tag it for ME to take.

Sorry, I was trying to say we have 10 people so we are getting reserved seats so we can sit by each other. We are all checking in bags. But I have read about the different boarding zones where if your zone was the last one on there may not be room for your carry on bags & that you have to check them. The part I love about ME is not waiting for our bags at airport but gonig strait the to bus. I know its not a huge deal but I rather be on the bus than waiting for bags. I wanted our carry on with us so we can have some stuff like swimsuit, change of clothes till ours bags arrive. We will pay for priority boarding so we won't have worry about it. It will be worth the$10 for peace of mind. :) Thanks for info.
