Airtran Gift Certificates Good Deal

Airtran is offering one free A+ credit with each 100.00 purcahsed in GCs. We needed flights to Atlanta and I had some extra cash so I purchased $3200.00 worth of GCs. This gives me 2 free r/ts anywhere, plus I have enough left on the GC that with a good fare, the five if us can get to FLA twice. Between what I already had in credits, they let me take all the kids and put them into mine it gave us another r/t. Also we will be earning credits with each flight. And to boot I purcahsed with AMEX that gave us some addtl credits, so whwn all is said and done, for $3200.00 I got 5 r/t to Atlanta (which is never inexpensive from NJ) enough credits for 4 r/ts plus almost $1500.00 on account. I realize this will not work for all, but worked well for our family. The benefit is that its very easy to redeem rewards with and now I feel like the next few trips, the air is paid for.

They do not expire, which sealed the deal for me. Besides, that I really have come to prefer Airtran over Continental which is who we always used.

We've come to prefer AirTran too over other carriers. We fly them exclusively now and got their credit card to earn free flights faster. Three of the 4 of us are flying to Orlando free this Aug. with our points.

There's a # on the website to call, and they added the money and the points to my account while I was on the phone. I hung up and used the money to purchase our tix. Very simple!

Thanks for the great tip. I am buying 8 tickets and will use AirTran b/c of the direct flights. I was told by A+ department, I had to book over the phone. Meaning the internet only rates might not apply. I am very impatiently waiting for the December sale to open up. Check with the phone reservations before buying GC to make sure it will work for you.

That is odd. When I purchased mine, they justed added the GC amount to my A+ number and I was able to use it online. When you get to the pay screen it asks you for either Credit Card info or a voucher #. I put in Gift Cert # and purchased web only tix...hmmm
