I know this is on the transportation board but I rarely check that board...I'm glad I did.

I'm posting this on this board in the hopes of catching more DISers....AIRTRAN is changing LOADS AND LOADS of flights. They are cancelling flights and changing flight times drastically....

CHECK your flights!!! Mine are moved 6 hours! Lots of people on the TR board have flights that are flat out cancelled and are scrambling to rebook at a fare that is affordable!

Yikes! Using them in September, never check the transportation board. Thanks for the update! I'm checking on it now!

Definitely check if you have airtran tickets. Our flights were cancelled and we still haven't heard a word from them...I happened to hear it on the radio that they were no longer flying out of the airport that we are going to...:scared1:

We flew AirTran for our recent trip, June 4 to 12, and had no problems.

Good luck to anyone with AirTran tickets!

We're flying AirTran and we have recieved letters in the mail for both going and coming back time changes. Just as long as they stay non-stop flights I'll be happy! But definitely have to check the times before we leave. :)

I booked my flight through AirTran for September, we were alerted last week that our flight had been cancelled and rescheduled for a later time in the day. While annoying it really was no big deal for us. Now instead of getting back into Indy at 5pm it will be more like 9pm.

We did receive an email telling us about the change though, maybe everyone else will get an email soon?

I reluctantly chose AirTran for my upcoming December trip. I will nervously watch the flights....

Great..I booked my MIL and her friends for November flight from Newburg, NY to MCO. I went in to look and it says there are no flights those days. That isn't a good sign. I called my MIL for the flight info so I can be 100% sure.

I hate to tell you this, but I heard that they are discontinuing service from Newburg in Sept. I don't know the details, I'm sorry.

Our n/s flight out of HPN is MIA right on their schedule. It's still in our itinerary but it doesn't show up in the search engine for any dates I plugged in. DH just called and they said we are still confirmed on the flight but keep an eye on it :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 .

There are now no n/s flights the day we're leaving (according to the search engine). If they're going to switch us to a connection I wish they'd do it now so we could investigate getting a refund and possibly booking SW when they release this week.

But alas I'm afraid they'll string us along until it's so late in the came we'll be up shizzle creek.

My flights were changed for the second time now. The only reason I found out was b/c I read info on these boards. Airtran still has not told me of my most recent change and it has been a few days. Last month after my 1st change, I was offered to change my flights without charge or cancel without penalty. I may check out Sowthwest and cancel Airtran to avoid any further changes. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the heads-up .... we are flying AirTran in September out of Detroit and, sure enough, our flights changed. In fact we were on a connecting flight on the way down (cheaper) and that totally made no sense.

I phoned AirTran and she put us on a direct (non-stop) flight leaving 15 minutes earlier ... Yea, an extra evening in the parks if we wish!!

The return time also changed by 10 minutes but that was okay.

Called Disney to change my flight number for the DME and also added another day in the parks (less than $5 for both of us).

Again, thanks for the heads-up!

Just so you know, JetBlue is starting to do this too.

Got my first notice today. :worried:

It's the call and check back part that doesn't instill confidence, know what I mean. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Are you taking that 8 a.m.-ish flight? It's off the schedule for many many days in all different months (yes, I was checking obsessively all over the calendar).

Yup,, that is what we are on. The only thing is I was on the 1 something flight and they cancelled that back in April so not sure what to think. It stil says I'm confirmed so not sure what else we can do but wait. The people who answer the phone seem not to know anymore than we do. The same thing is with my JB flight it says confirmed but it out of the system now. They say I'm all set. So I guess as long as it says I'm confirmed there is not much I can do right now???!!!!!!!!!!!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Once you book a ticket it is your responsibility to keep checking for any changes. The sooner you notice something has changed the better chance you have of getting what you want.

I have been but it is difficult because they keep telling me I'm confirmed and I'm not sure I believe them anymore?????!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I just cancelled my Airtran flights and went to Southwest. I actually saved $80.00 total! When they change your flights, you have the right to change the flight by 1 day or to cancel without penalty. I don't need tha hassle of the ongoing changes (my return flights were changed 2 times in 3 weeks). Goodbye Airtran, hello Southwest!

I am so glad I saw this thread. I went to Airtran.com and although it showed I was still confirmed on my flights from DFW those flight numbers no longer existed in the reservation system. I called airtran and they said that I was confirmed on the old flights. When I questioned why those flights were no longer available to book she said "because the have been cancelled"! The system apparently hadn't yet updated my reservation.

Any way I checked over at American Airlines and the flights I had been watching for months (at ~$400 RT) were now available for $91 each way. So I was able to cancel my Airtran flight and book AA (which I prefer anyway for FF miles).

So I am happy and feel much better traveling with AA!
