We are also taking Air Tran. They have already changed our flight twice. We started out with a non stop flight to Orlando, but now we have to stop in Atlanta. Darn.
I booked our flights in April for times that reasonably fit our schedule. In June both of our flight times were changed by more than 4 hours. I discovered it when checking on another reservation through my TA. My TA got us on different flights which again met our schedule, but Airtran wanted to charge us $300 for the change plus $270 for the difference in airfare for the return flight.
My TA went to bat for us and got those charges removed, but it was a tense few days until that happened. It pays to have a TA who will fight for your rights.

I'm glad it worked out for you, I just can't figure out why Airtran would have initially given your TA such a hard time when they routinely work with individuals and give them the same deal that your TA had to fight for.

If the travel agency booked the flights for you don't you have to go through the TA for any and all changes?
Quite possibly a silly question but...
I have never flown Airtran before as they have not been in our market until recently. Everyone keeps saying to "check your flights frequently for changes", but I am unsure where you go to check. Is there an area where you go on the website after you have a confirmation, or do you check the general schedules area? I was considering booking with them since it would save us a 3 hour drive to a major airport, but have to admit all this talk about changing is about to scare me off!
thanks for any info-
