DW & I leave this coming Sunday for our anniversary trip (39 yrs together, she's a saint for putting up with me) to WDW. This past weekend she broke her foot. She's now in one of those large ortho boots and using a cane. Will she be able to board early? TIA.

Airtran is now affiliated with Southwest. I believe their policies will be the same. When you check in ask about preboarding. They will give you a blue boarding sleeve for your ticket. There are usually special seating areas at the gate for handicapped. Pre boards will be announced for early boarding. You might also consider getting a wheelchair for both ends of the flight. It will help to expedite your travels to and from the gate and be more comfortable for your wife. If you are staying on Disney property, they also have complimentary wheelchairs at the resorts. If they've run out, ask them to get one from another resort. You can use them at the resort and take them on the bus and to the parks. Happy anniversary!

Thanks Cybrary! I appreciate the wheelchair advice but DW has informed me that she will not use a wheelchair. She feels others that really need them should have them. Her plan is to walk a little, sit a little and enjoy a slow trip this time. She fully intends to do 4 parks but at a much slower pace. We both appreciate your advice.
