Airtran and credit!

Hi, I called this morning, cause my flight dropped for March Break by $20 flight! So I know have a $60 credit! When I check in for my flight, can I used that for baggage? Or does it have to be used towards a future flight? I asked her on the phone and she told me towards a flight, but I was sure I saw on here somewhere that they use it towards baggage as well!

It is a credit to use as you wish. I use mine for business class upgrades, which additionally gives no charge baggage.

Will the credit show up if doing online check in. If upgrading to business class on line could I then use the credit towards the upgarde or would I have to do this at the airport.

I just, a minute ago, used $20 of my available credit to upgrade to exit row. I will further upgrade to business when at 24 hours. As I was going through the exit row process, when I got to the payment page, there was a section there telling me how much my credit balance was, what the amount of the charge was ($20) and asked if I wanted to use part of my credit balance to pay the $20. I just put in my login password and the $20 was deducted from my credit balance.

In the past, when i have upgraded to business class and have had a credit balance, it has automatically deducted available credit and if not sufficient to pay the total, billed me the difference on my credit card. I have done this online.

When I travelled with my family in April 2010, I was able to use $60 from my account to pay for baggage at the airport. I was told by others that if I checked in online I could have used it as well. I think it is hit or miss if you wait until you get to the airport to try and use it. The person I was dealing with was very nice and figured out how to use the credit for me so I would not have to pay. Never hurts to ask.

Does anyone know how much the upgrade to business class usually is? I'm flying from Indianapolis to Orlando on Thursday and I'm thinking about upgrading as a birthday gift to myself (I'm celebrating my birthday in WDW ). Thanks

Happy Birthday! I agree, and try to spend my birthday (in April) at WDW when possible!

I don't fly enough within 12 months to earn a free one-way ticket, but I usually fly enough to get a one-way business-class upgrade voucher.
