airtrain/ kayak seat assignment fee?

Has anyone booked Airtran via kayak recently and selected seats for free?
I was trying to book our flights for May, but after I select the seats the fee shows on the next page (the payment page). I wonder if this loop hole has now been closed by kayak/Airtran. TIA for any help!

It appears that this may have been closed as I noticed the same thing in a test. The fees now show when you actually select the seat on the seat map. Before it would show $0. Now with AirTrans higher seat fees, it will make them a less attractive option for us.

hmmm...I just book last weekend through Kayak and I got the seat assignments for free...Right upfront with priority boarding.

Yes, it worked for us too not not long ago. Looks like it just changed in the last few days.
