I tip according to service. I never go by a set percentage. If the driver is personable and makes me smile, helps with the bags, is on time, etc, I give a larger tip. It's not up to me to help him pay his bills if his company doesn't pay him well. It seems that the whole meaning of tips has changed. A tip is supposed to be a little (or a lot) something extra for a job well done.
No, actually I don't, but, if it is construted as one then I do apologize, what was meant was I am done debating with her.
She can go back to her corner and I will go back to mine.
Sad, no, cannot find something that does not exist.
As to your tipping, I totally agree with you. It is not up to you to pay his/her bills and it is not your problem if this is the industry he/she is making a living at.
TIPS = To Insure Prompt Service. They used to be paid at the beginning of any service, that is how you got the attention of the server.
I generally go with a percentage, much easier for me to calculate.
For Mears, I think what princess tips is adequate, when you do the calculations it is a decent tip. If I were to use Mears, which I would not, I might be inclined to tip more. But, that is just me.
