One of our daughters and her family will be flying into Orlando and taking the Disney transfer to the Fort, where they've rented a trailer from Greenberg. Disney has provided excellent information on where to find the shuttle, etc.......but we wondered:

1) Does the bus wait for multiple flights? Is there usually a delay in leaving the airport?
2) Does the bus stop at numerous Disney resorts?
3) Any estimate on approximately how long the bus ride will be to get to the Fort from the airport?
4) Do they provide car seats for the children, ages 5 and 14 months?
5) Do they drop them off at the registration desk?

Once they've arrived and registered, we'll be picking them up with the golf cart so they don't have to take the transfer shuttle to the campsite. We're transporting their luggage for them in our motorhome, so they'll only have a small bag each. And information would be appreciated, since we've only driven from Michigan to the Fort.....never flown there. Thank you!

Good morning midwest neighbors. Spring is teasing us, and hopefully you as well. No snow left in Wisconsin. This past summer, we chose to rent from Greenberg, instead of hauling our 5th wheel. We did use the Magical Express. We boarded very fast, and yes, it does stop at several other resorts. I would plan on about 1 1/2 hours from the time the plane lands until your bus arrives at the Fort. I did not see any younger children in car seats, but there were seat belts. You are dropped off at the Registration. We called from our cell phone to our daughter, and she picked us up in golf cart. Have a wonderful time. We are in a countdown mode of 9 months.

We took the magical express when our daughter was 11 months old. They did not provide car seats. We used our own. They can check the car seats for free, if they don't want to use them on the plane (if they're FAA approved).

The Fort DME "411":

1) Arriving
. . . the DME counter gives you the bus to board
. . . DME operated 24/7
. . . 25/7 for Leap Year
. . . there are four basic DME routes form MCO to FW (up to four resorts per route)
. . . if there are lots of folks going to the same resort at the same time, the DME bus may only stop at the one resort
. . . due to few late flights, after about 11:00pm, the DME bus frequently becomes a 12-person van - yes, sort of magical
. . . plan upon 1-hr from DME desk to FW arrival at "Outpost" (the check-in building, with Concierge and Front Desk)
. . . if you are on a multi-resort bus, it could take up to 2-hrs total to arrive at The Fort, as The Fort is usually one of th last stops
2) Departing
. . . there are two times per hour a DME bus is scheduled (eg. 4:10pm and 4:40pm)
. . . the bus DOES NOT stop unless there is an advance ressie
. . . so, if you miss your bus, the next one might not stop for you, and you might miss your flight
. . . you board the bus nearest 3-hrs prior to flight time (eg. based upon above, flight = 8:00pm, DME = 4:40pm)
. . . if you have a 7:00am flight, your DME picks you up approx 4:10am (using the same example as above)
. . . you arrange for the bus two days before your flight (eg. tell Front Desk on Tues for a Thurs flight)
4) Miscellany
. . . child seats are not priovided
. . . per Florida Law, child seats are not required on buses
. . . if you want one, take yours on the plane
. . . the airline will check it (for free) just before you board
3) Driver
. . . no tipping, unless you feel the need for jokes or kindnesses
. . . if the driver handles the luggage, a $1 per bagf tip is customary
. . . the buses are safe, and the vidoe screens make it entertaining for the kiddies
. . . however, in the case of a water landing, the person next to you may be used as a floatation device
