Can someone tell me how good or bad JB is about issueing credits if their fares drop? And if there is a timeframe they must be used in if they do issue credits. TIA
Thanks. I just called. I don't know why I don't think to call business in the middle of the night. The gentleman I spoke with was very pleasant. Didn't offer alot of info, but provided info as I asked specific questions.
Yes, if prices decrease for the specific flight that someone has booked JB will issue credits.
The credits expire 1 year from date of issue (as opposed to flight date).
Now, has anyone ever been issued a credit? Years ago flight prices went down, but it was on newly added flight #'s (the times if I recall were within 1/2 hour of ours) so they told us no credits could be issued because it wasn't the flight # we had booked. And it wasn't enough of a difference to pay the change/cancelation fee. The only complaint I have ever had with JB. Even at that I understand they are in business to make money not loose it.
Now, THAT I can answer Yes, I have had credits on JetBlue flights when the fare for my exact flights have gone down. Very simple. The credits go on your TrueBlue account - if you don't have one, open one for ease. You can even transfer credits to another person if you're not going to be able to use them.
I've always called JetBlue to do this. One tip - even though they seem to not be charging the cancellation fee, the actual work done on their end is to cancel and rebook the flight. Double-check to make sure they rebooked your seats as well - and you did notice on the website, if you've already selected your seats, the note that pops up that says your seat selection isn't guaranteed, right?
Like Kaytie, I too have had credits for a fare reduction. It only applies to your actual flight though, not an earlier or later flight to the same destination.
Thanks. I really wish I had a crystal ball for this one.
JB non stop very -early flight home -$179
Southwest plane change in philly-1 xtra hr in WDW - $99.
If it was just me I would take the JB non stop, but with a family of 6. The xtra money plus getting everyon to the airport by 5:10 for a 7:10am flight does not appeal to me.
I wouldn't mind paying more now then getting a credit later. (good excuse to talk dh into a getaway weekend. never had one of those ). But i just know if I buy now, next month they will come out with a new flight at a much lower price. argghhhh. Oh, where did I put that crystal ball?
well,if it makes you feel better,I just bougth JB yesterday, paid more than I wanted,am so glad I did, the fares went up by 14.00 since yesterday.....at least now I have the tix!

you atleast got them before the increase. Sorry you didn't get a better deal to begin with.
DH is the decision breaker on me waiting or buying. For now he says wait. Hoping JB may add another flight with better nonstop times at a little lower price. If not we will fly with one of the other airlines.
