Hello,

just wondering if anyone has flown to MCO with SwissAir before. We were going to go Delta but Swiss is £400 cheaper - which essentially would pay for our park tix. Alternatively AA is £200 cheaper.

Swiss changes in Zurich and the return flight doesn't leave til 11.30pm - giving us a whole last day in the magic. AA changes in Chicago which would mean immigration before we get to MCO - always a bonus.

The original flight we were looking at was Delta, changing in Atlanta.

Thoughts please people,
thanks
x

i've had excellent experiences with Swiss, though i've never flown them to MCO, so i can't tell you about that particular route..

but i like the airline very much, both in the air and on the ground..

American is also a good airline, though i like Swiss better (more european in its feel and service)...

i don't know if one has better onboard entertainment than the other, if that makes a difference to you..

if it were me, i'd go with the cheaper one....whichever one that is...
they're both good airlines..

On board entertainment etc. is never a factor when picking flights - just found out that the Zurich-Orlando leg is over 10 hours long plus is operated by Eidelweiss Air! Think we may be going with Delta - anyone else wanna input please?

never heard of eidelweiss air - sounds like a charter company...
i would give it a pass.....

delta's a good company...
so is american...

let's see, you said that the delta flight goes through atlanta (one of their hubs) and the american flight goes through chicago (and is a bit cheaper)..

so....

keep in mind that i tend towards the worst case scenario....

if you get stuck in atlanta on the way in, you could always hop in a rental car and drive the 6 hours down to orlando.....you could drive from chicago, but it would take you 3 times as long

so...having said that, i'd go with delta...

delta's fine....i'm a frequent flyer on delta....i don't particularly like them, but they get you from point a to point b without much fuss....

my mom is a platinum delta FF and swears by them....she ONLY flies delta...
thinks they walk on water...

I have travelled short-haul with Edelweiss between Manchester and Zurich a few times when they took over the route from Swiss. They are, I believe, owned by Swiss anyhow.

Can't say much about long haul, but some info on the aircraft facilities (A330) they are using are available here - looks as if they have seat back video and a 31"" seat pitch.

i came back to revise my opinion on AA...
if seatback entertainment is important to you, then AA might not be your airline of choice..
it depends which equipment you'll fly in..
i believe their 777s all have seatback entertainment throughout the plane..
but their 757 and 767 planes don't have seatback entertainment in economy class..

which is why they're cheaper than their competitors....horse and buggy planes...
