Airline miles Credit cards

What cards do you all use to accrue your miles? We have 2 .
Our Milesone from capital one was easy to use and the limitations were limited. (We used it for a feb. flt to Miami)
BUT, I do not think I care for the amex delta miles. It is confusing and I prefer direct flights. One time I check, we had 2 stops. It took along time to build up enough miles just for 2 of the 4 tx we need for the flt. We are thinking of getting rid of the amex after we book flts for our next WDW vacation in Aug.
We fly out of logan.
We may keep the other but I want opinions from the people on this site. I value all your opinions.

We use the miles one card, used it for our tickets for the trip in April. We also use the Sky miles card only because Costco only takes Amex cards,so we might as well get something while using it. I have always had a hard time getting flights using the Delta miles, seems like they are never available when and where I want to fly. we have just applied for a MBNA World Perks card. It is very similar to the miles one, but I think with better rewards. They don't have zones within the country. You can fly anywhere for the same number of miles. We haven't gotten the card yet, but it may be our new primary card to use.

We use Orbitz and love it! No date black outs at all.

You are not restricted to only one airline, and can use 20000 points for an entire ticket (under $300), or just use increments of 7500 to take $100 off the price of a ticket. Works great when buying 2 tickets that cost around $250, only have to use a total of 37500 points.

How does that (Orbitz) work?
Could I use my delta miles when purchasing a ticket with orbitz?
Or do I aquire miles by using their service?
Sorry I sound a little dumb but we have had these cards for awhile but have not used the amex delta miles yet. I would like to use them then get rid of that card.

I've been using the Delta Amex Skymiles card for several years and only once (on a return flight from MCO to EWR Newark NJ) did I have to change planes. Our next trip is May 2 - 12 and we have non-stop flights both ways, on Song.

You cannot use your already accumulated miles for an Orbitz ticket. You earn points by using the Orbitz credit card. When you earn and use a ticket, you can earn your frequent flyer miles points.

We charge everything! All our monthly bills are set up to automatically go on our card each month. You have to have the discipline to pay it off each month, because the interest rate is ridiculous.

We had alot of miles stacked up on both cards since we just built a new house. (took advantage of double miles @ home centers for amex) We had no luck using them on last years trip. We did use our capital one miles for our trip this feb to Miami (RC Cruise).
We have a stop on the return trip. We are hoping to use the AMEX Delta miles for this AUG trip to WDW. This time we are starting early and will get started on tx this W/E. We will then make our ressies @ DVC and second resort.

Each flight has a very limited # of "free" seats. The earliest date you can book is 330 days out. I always call on that very date and almost always get flights that suit our travel needs.

We have trouble with the delta miles because you can't call until 330 days from the return flight. Then all the departing dates are gone because we may be staying longer than other people. The best luck we had with them was to have a TA make the call for us, and we actually ended up using the Delta points on United. I like the no blackout cards like Miles one much better, use on any airline, any dates.

SWA's Visa is fairly decent. I usually fly with SWA a few times per year, but almost never quite often enough to make the required number of trips for a free RT. However, with the card, I can almost always get enough extra credits to take me over.

A little over $19K in purchases on their card will get you a RT on SWA. Each $1200 is good for a single flight credit, so you can add those credits to the ones you get from flying. When you reach 16 credits, SWA will issue you a RT voucher that is good for a year, no blackouts. If there is a seat, it's yours.

We usually prefer to use hotel cards rather than air cards, because one hotel room will cover the whole family, whereas one air ticket only takes care of one person. We like our Starwood Amex for free and reduced-price rooms at S/D.

In addition to airline credit cards there are some cards that have programs that allow you to accumalate miles and use for any airline. For example we use Chase for all our expenses and accumalate points for airline, car rental and even hotels. The are no black out dates other than availability issues.

With the Miles One card you can redeem for cash instead of a ticket. We usually redeem for cash and use it to fly whatever airline we want whenever we want and usually for a sale fare. 20,000 for $200, 30,000 miles for $300, etc. Never have to worry about blackouts or availability this way.

The Starwood American Express Card earns one point per dollar charged, and can be used for free nights at Starwood hotels (Westin, Sheraton, W Hotels, etc.) or exchanged for airline miles on a number of airlines. When you transfer 20,000 Starwood points to an airline, Starwood adds 5,000 bonus miles, which equals a free domestic ticket on most airlines. There is no annual fee the first year, and $30 per year thereafter.
