Airfare sale!

Thanks to my obsession with the DIS boards, I was able to pass this along and my mom, dad and sister (family) booked today and saved a bundle coming from CA. YIPPIEEEE:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm going to move this to our tranportation board.

When we first started planning our Jan trip, tickets were holding steady at $133/each way. But they went on sale, so I booked our flights from New Orleans to Orlando for $99/each way for the four of us. Then I saw this thread and rebooked a couple of days ago for $65/each way, giving us a $270 credit for our Sept '12 trip!:yay: And today the price of those same tickets is $136/each way!

Thanks to DIS'ers, our airfare is costing us HALF what it would have if I hadn't been lurking the Transportation board!!! :worship:

Just wanted to FYI you all that AirTran and Southwest are both having a very good sale right now....for travel before Christmas....and then again in January. I saved about $500 for our January WDW trip from the prices I WAS keeping my eye on (family of 4).

I just had to say "thank you!" :worship::worship::worship::worship:I have been pricing another WDW vacation for the past year and have been shocked at how much more the plane tickets have been compared to the last few trips. I figured that maybe if we waited till 2013 to go back we would be able to save enough $ to be able to still fly down. Thanks to you posting about this sale, I just got our family of 4 tickets for $65pp each way! That's half of what I'd been finding when "Disney dreaming." :cloud9:
We are going this January COMPLETELY because YOU took the time to post about this sale!:cheer2:

So....my AirTran flight was cancelled! I randomly checked yesterday to see what the price was going for now for my flight and noticed that it wasn't listed at all. I thought maybe it was sold out because of the great sale last week. I checked days on either side of my flight and the flight was not listed on those days either. I called tonight to see what's going on and AirTran states that they are sorry but that flight has been cancelled. The agent said that they notified Expedia on the 22nd that the flight was cancelled but I have not received a thing from Expedia. :confused3

I have to call Expedia and rebook through them or cancel. Of course the sale is now over and the great deal that I might have gotten last week is gone.

BTW - if anyone is flying on an evening flight out of Harrisburg, you may want to check on yours. It might have been cancelled!

Wow we fly out of Harrisburg all the time! Isn't there always 2 direct flights in and out each day? Which one did they cancel?

They cancelled the evening flight - the one that was selling for $65 o/w last week. I was thrilled that they had an evening flight when I originally booked because I could roll out right after work.

I rebooked thru Expedia on the morning flight. I'll get in at 2 instead of 8:15 so that's fortunate. I wish I could have canceled and rebooked directly thru AirTran though. The Expedia customer service experience that I had last night was just about the worst CS I've EVER had. The cost of the flight has gone up since I paid so to avoid having to pay an additional cost for the new flight, I had to stay with Expedia.
