:earsgirl: Just got rt airfare from KC to Orlando for $127 including all the fees and taxes. This with the $55 pn at ASMu makes for a great bargain for our trip at Christmas. It appears this airfare is good August 8 through June 21 (providing seats are available).

Back in Feb., when we were deciding on whether or not to go, we started checking airfare. Vanguard (based in Kansas City - so probably not available to all of you ) was going to cost $235.00/person RT. Two days after we decided it would be cheaper to drive, SOUTHWEST AIRLINES started their "Friends Fly Free" program. We ended up with Round Trip Airfare from Kansas City to Orlando FOR TWO PEOPLE and WITH ALL OF THE TAXES for $235.00. At this price, it would have been stupid to drive (it would cost more for gas).

Now recently, Southwest started another fare promotion (I'm pretty sure that is the airline that "Remi" is talking about). Check out their website, and see what they can do for you.

REMEMBER.... A LOT OF "DISCOUNT" AIRLINES (LIKE SOUTHWEST) DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN TRAVEL SITES LIKE "EXPEDIA", OR "TRAVELOCITY"...YOU MUST VISIT THEIR SITE TO SEE THE SPECIALS THEY OFFER!

Actually it is US Air. We'd had wanted to use Vanguard because they have non-stop, but this was to good to pass up and now I don't have to "worry" about getting a good airfare.:Pinkbounc :earsgirl:

Hey Remi's Nana I'm from Raytown also. We are planning a trip to DL in Feb. but are thinking about switching to DW because the airfare is cheaper. Did you have a code to get that rate with US Air? Also, I noticed you stayed at Candy Cane and Fairfield Inn in DL. Which of the two would you recommend? We have never been to DL so we know very little about it. We have a 6 yr old DD who loved DW. Do you think DL will be just as exciting or a little dissappointing?

I didn't need a special code to get the airfare. I got it through travelocity but also checked out the airline site and could've gotten it there. For me, the Fairfield Inn and Candy Cane Inn rooms were pretty equal. I did like the pool at the Candy Cane Inn better and it was easier to walk to the parks because you don't have to contend with the traffic and crossing the street because it is on the same side of the street as the parks. If your six year old really loves any other park than Magic Kingdom, he/she might be a little disappointed with Disneyland, but if MK is the one they love than I think you will all have a wonderful time. Also when planning your trip, the airfare to WDW might be cheaper, but you will definitely spend more on park admission than at DL since you probably won't stay as go as many days.:earsgirl: :Pinkbounc

I was excited to see that fare, too. I'm hoping it pushes Vanguard to extend their $118 RT beyond the start of October. The USAir times to fly down are fine, but the returns (at least the days I'm looking at) all depart Orlando at 7:00 or earlier. We're a party of six this time and I don't want to be frantic on the last day.

Fingers crossed.

Just checked Travelocity and the US Air web sites and this great fare is now no where to be found. It must have been a one day deal. This happened to me a few weeks ago when I found a Vanguard fare for KC to Orlando for $135 and by the time I checked with all parties concerned and went back to it the next morning it was gone. I guess this is just proof that if you are planning a future trip you should check air fares EVERY DAY!
