I am looking for cheap airfare flying out of Detroit to Orlando April 3oth-May7th. It's a friday to Friday, do you think I will be able to find cheap airfare because it's a Fri? So far there has been nothing under $220 a person. I know that may seem cheap to some of you but my budget is $150 or under otherwise we are driving:headache: I signed up with the Southwest "ding" and kayak, airfare watch dog and a few others but so far nothing. Anyone who is in this area that has got reasonable prices please pass along any help.
Thanks

I'm looking for Saturday, May 1 through May 9. I'm flying DTW to MCO as well. I figured it was because it was a Saturday and we usually go on Tuesday or Wednesday but looking at the fares, they are the same everyday for Spirit. I've never flown southwest, but I think we'll be booking in a couple days because of the bags flying free. It's much cheaper when you don't have to pay for the luggage. We will do EBCI though to make sure we're able to sit together. I get Kayak alerts and it has remained the same for weeks. 219 per person. No change at all. Last year we flew to MCO twice and got fares under 110 per person total. I think those days are gone! I hope I'm wrong! Good luck!

I don't know about others, but in my experience airfare to Orlando appears to be the highest on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Usually mid-week seems to be cheaper at least from where I live. From what I have viewed deeply discounted airfares are not happening as much this year as they have in the past.

For me to drive is about the same mileage as it is for you (from Detroit to Orlando) and I think $150 round trip is ridiculously low (with all due respect) to set as an expected round trip airfare. $220 for round trip air fare is a really good price. To me $70 over my budget per person isn't worth it to have to spend 24 hours in a car and take up multiple days of my vacation traveling. Not sure how many of you there are, looking at your signature it seems to be four people.

Something to think about is $280 more dollars worth spending 48 hours in a car (1 day down and 1 day back)?

Either way, I hope you can find an airfare that you are happy with!
