Hi all--I just wanted to let you know that US Airways has had some good deals on airfare from Buffalo to Orlando lately. I just got $130 r/t MCO/BUF/MCO for the first week of December, and the fare worked the other direction as well.

Pressure from Southwest and Jet Blue has helped to keep the US fares down in many markets.

I also checked fares into YYZ and London (which is where I'm ultimately going), and they were more than double, so it DOES pay to fly from BUF!

Thanks Anne,

We often forget about the other carriers out of BUF and it's always good to be reminded.

Have fun in London - is it work or pleasure?? I am guess work (no flames from Londoners please LOL). :teeth:

Actually pleasure--I'm going to visit some friends up that way.

You will love it in London have you ever been before? So do I smell a London Dis meet while you are in town?

Think I *might* have been in London back in 1990, but I'm not sure.

I fly in to BUF on 12/2, drive to Sarnia, spend some time with some friends there, drive that night to London, and I've got plans for dinner and a show with friends in London that night, then I fly back to Orlando via BUF on Sunday. A whirlwind trip. If ya'll are meeting mid-afternoon I can try to squeese it in, but no promises.

Anne,

With your itinerary, have you checked out flying NWA from Orlando to Detroit? I think you should be able to get a non-stop flight and Sarnia is only about 1.5 hours away from Detroit. You would drive up the Michigan side and cross at Port Huron. By contrast, Sarnia is probably at least 5 hours away from Buffalo.

On the way back to Orlando, Buffalo is probably a 3 hour drive from London whereas Detroit is probably a shade over 2 hours.

We are headed to Sarnia first, then to London, and can't go the other way around. My husband is meeting me in Buffalo, and headed back to New Jersey, so going to Detroit is more than a bit out of the way. Buffalo is right on the way. So it actually makes sense for me to go this route.

Plus I'd take Greyhound before I flew in or out of that armpit they call DTW ever again.

Thanks anyhow!

Anne

You Guys are lucky you can grab cheap airfares out of Buffalo. Out here in Southern Alberta its pretty much Calgary and thats it. Great Falls. MT is about 2.5hrs from here (Lethbridge, AB), but its about 12 hours travel time from take off in Great Falls, to finally getting to Orlando and the airfare may be $50 less.. By the time we pay gas, and parking its about the same anyways, and Westjet offers 10 times the service, and we dont have to mess around with customs as much..
