Airfare Cost?

From what I've read in the papers about Delta and their price changes, I got the impression fares would be going down industry-wide. I'm planning a trip to Alsaska in August and told my TA I was waiting for a fare war. She advised to book now, that fares would only be going up. Any thoughts on this??

I don't think there will be any airfare wars due to Delta's changes. Most of the changes affected those buying tickets last minute. I haven't heard anything that would have me believe that those of us that book way out would benefit from these changes. Maybe in the change fees but that would be about it.

Unless you TA has been gifted with the ability to see the future, I don't think she can gurantee anything.

That said, Alaska in the summer can get VERY expensive so you might want to go ahead and book.
