Anyone ever fly with air tran? I found cheap prices with them to Orlando. I would love opinions. Thanks:flower3:

No problems with Airtran. Pretty "no frills", but you get good fares instead. In most cases, you can check in on line 24 hours before your flight and choose your seats. I have had some problems with late departures, but it seems to be on one particular flight at the end of the day. New planes, too!

We love them! Check the transportation board for more info on them.

I fly AirTran all the time - Never a problem.

Fly with them every year. $120 round trip from Philly!

We've flown AirTran before and enjoyed our flight! I was also able to spoil my dd on one trip both ways. We paid for the upgrade to business class for $60/ticket each way.

I know it's not a budget thing, but she has always wanted to fly 1st class. It wasn't the same as 1st class but close enough for her and since I was having knee problems at the time, having the extra leg room was well worth it!

The trip we took we actually took off slightly early since everyone was on the plane and landed a little quicker than anticipated. Plus we loved the Sat. Radio. Have a great trip!

I agree with the PP's- they are great! I actually saw a thing on CNN the other day, saying that they are rated one of the top "customer friendly" airlines! We drive to Dallas (3 hours) and then take a direct flight to MCO for about 120 RT PP! AND the flight attendants were great with DS 1, since it was his first flight!

As others have said -

Great planes - I really like the free XM radio. They hand out free disposable headsets, or you can use your own.

Business Class upgrade - It's a nice plus for your trip at a fairly low cost if it's available when you check in. I don't drink, but BC gets free alcoholic drinks. Of course, BC boards first, and they immediately give you something to drink and a snack to enjoy while the "other" passesngers ;) board. They take really good care of you, and the seats are so much roomier! :thumbsup2

Don't mean to thread steal but....

Do you know when AirTran posts their web deals? We are flying in January and the flights are listed but not the web deals. Thanks for your help.

We love Air Tran. I am not a big fan of flying. We upgraded to business class on the last trip and it was fantastic! Paid $99 for rhe seats and then $$50 to upgrade. It was definately worth it.

A couple of my co-workers just flew to FL on AirTran for the first time and they said it was a good experience. They checked in online 24 hours before their flights and chose their seats.

Next time we go to WDW (fingers crossed-next May) I plan on flying AirTran.

I love AirTran, and am flying them again in October. Their business class upgrades are great, and I have never had a problem getting one. They have a young fleet of planes, and I find them to be comfortable. I have always experienced great customer service, and have found the flight crews to be hysterical...they like to kid around. I will say that they tend to overbook, especially from their ATL hub. This is not unusual, as most carriers play this game, but we have experienced them overbooking to the extent that they have had to seek voluntary bumps for up to 12 passengers on a flight (not just the typical tow or three). On the upside, if you can take the bump, hold out for a bit as I have seen them offer up to 3 rt tickets pp, anywhere they fly, for bumping.

I guess we have been unlucky, but no one in our family has EVER used airtran and not has at least an hour or two delay - it was the worst when I was late for my own surgery waiting for my mom to arrive. . . other than that they are great :)
