Air Tran Question

I won't consider Air Tran during the day for flights, because I had a bad experience when they took my non-stop and moved it to a long layover which would have messed up plans to view a shuttle launch.

They are cheapest though for the first flight of the day, leaving at 6:35am. Not my first choice for times, but it is the cheapest. This is IAD to MCO.

Does anyone know if that flight has a history of being changed? It looks like they offer it every day, so I think I might be ok. I am meeting someone in MCO, so I'd like to arrive around the time they do.

Anytime that Airtran has changed my flights and they didn't work for me, all I had to do was call and change it. Usually it gets changed back to the non-stop flight that I wanted in the first place. Never an issue. Did you call them and try to move it back to one that worked for you?

I always fly Airtran and only one or two times have they changed my flight times.

peemag - Do you fly out of Detroit? I am flying in August from Detroit, and wondering if it matters which city you fly from regarding cancellations, etc. I have quite a while before I go. But I still check almost every day to see if there are changes, so I can call and try to get to as close to the original time as possible. We have a non-stop. I am not totally sold on a non-stop as much as the time in which I arrive.

We always fly out of Flint. If you can fly out of there we find it much more worth our time and money. We pay a bit more than Detroit, but once we figure in the cost of parking and the hassel of the airport itself, we find Flint to be much better. It is a nice, small airport that makes it very easy to get in and out of, unlike Detroit.

I completly agree. Flint is the way to go. I have never had a problem flying out of Flint on time. I do choose the first flight of the day as it is the only non stop. We usually get a minor delay when departing from Orlando. I also always had a delay when leaving Orlando using NWA to Detroit. Susan

When they moved my flight, I did call them. They weren't going to do anything, then I got a supervisor who allowed me to move my flight a day earlier. In the end, I moved the whole vacation a day earlier.

I haven't booked the 6:35am flight yet. Just wanted to know if anyone had an issue with them moving it or canceling.
