Air tran flyers. carryon question

So I'm on the airtran website and trying to figure if I can make it with just a carryon for each passenger or do I need to bite the bullet and pay for a checked bag.

The personal bag allowance is confusing me though. Basically from their picture they are calling the width of the bag, height and the measurement from the top of the bag to the bottom the length.

OK, if I follow their measurements my carryon bag is cool but my pocketbook is not. I carry a tote bag that fits my laptop and purse.

Has anyone run into issues with their computer bags?

Ok what I found when I went is u can have a carry on and personal item(camera,purse diaper bag)... the carry on is the size of a pilots case(the littlest rolling suitcase) but you would be suprised what ppl squeeze in there saying that they fit-crazy-im talking big duffle bags!

I had a diaper bag, and camera bag inside it...i saw tote bags with purses and laptops inside....not a problem just has to be searched

Length, width, or height can be in any order. The longest dimension of a bag is the length.

Your bag should be a little less than the dimensions quoted. Sometimes they don't measure accurately and you don't have time to stand there and argue.

If you are bringing two bags on board (within their measurement restrictions), one should fit underneath the seat while the other can go in the overhead bin.
