Hey guys..the last time we flew I got very air sick. What do you all suggest I do to avoid that this time??

I love to travel, but don't travel well. I use Sea Bands during the flight - put them on about 30 minutes before we board to have a chance to make sure they are placed correctly. I've found they hurt if they are not in the right spot after about 10 minutes. I avoid all dairy products for at least 12 hours before the trip, and make sure I'm well hydrated. Finally, if I do start to feel bad I'll get a cold bottle or can from an FA and put it behind my neck, and some ice on the insides of my wrist. Since I started avoiding dairy before flying and using the Sea Bands I haven't had to, and I don't like the feeling Dramamine gives me so I'd rather not take it.

I get very motion sick; Sea Bands alone don't do it for me. I got mine at RiteAid, a local chain drugstore, like CVS, Walgreens, etc. I also take Bonine (OTC, it's like Dramamine but a different drug so it doesn't knock me out so much) for flying and parks in addition to sea bands. I haven't tried the scopalamine patch (prescription only) for travel BUT when I had my gall bladder out I was very very nauseous post-surgery, vomiting like crazy even with the medication they put in the IV to prevent this. When I had surgery this past summer they put a scope patch on my ear and voila, no post-surgery pukies!!! I'm going to call my doc for a scope patch script before our Dec trip.

I have extreme motion sickness, even the car makes me sick. Sea bands and Bonine do not work for me. I take original Dramamine and it works great. I just take a nap if I need to. For longer trips, like a cruise, I have used the patch and it works for me as well. I also used it post gall bladder surgery too! I would be scared to trust seaband if you are not sure.

Sea Bands are unreliable. I would strongly suggest taking Dramamine about 45 minutes prior to take off.
