So my daughter has a pretty severe dust mite allergy along with asthma and has an air purifier in her bedroom at home. I called Disney to see if the hotels have one to rent but of course they do not. Has anyone ever needed to rent one from an offsite location? I am thinking of calling our insurance company to see if they have any suggestions. I am not sure if I should purchase a small one or search for a rental company. Was wondering if anyone else has been in my shoes and already gone down this road. We are staying at POR and I know they are renovating but highly doubt I will get into a newly done room. That old rug is scaring the life out of me though.

We have used FloridaBabyGear.com to rent our stroller and crib from in the past. I know they take special requests and have help us in the past with special items.

Since we drove we brought two hepa filters with us. In the past I have flown with filters labled as medical equipment and rented(but not at Disney).

We always run filters in hotels.

Thanks so much everyone. I thought people would think I was a little nuts but you guys are all in my shoes so you get it.:goodvibes

Housekeeping brought us one on our last visit. No charge, and there's one listed as a special request for our next trip.

OMG!!! Thank you so much.:goodvibes I looked into CARE medical supply and it is $65. Not too bad but I was on the fence if I should rent or buy for that price. How did you reserve it? Through the hotel directly or CRO? When I called CRO they had no idea and she was reading stuff while I was on the phone but she really had no idea. It will never finish amazing me that they people here on DIS know more than the people getting paid on the phone!:rotfl:

Just through CRO. We had other stuff going on with the room, so it was already in the hands of special reservations. When we were there (before I knew you could get an air purifier), I just called housekeeping and explained what the problem was, and they said "How about we bring an air purifier in?" - it was there in the evening.

I called the resort and they connected me with housekeeping. Housekeeping said that I just need to call down for it upon arrival. I think I will call CRO again to make sure our reservation is accurate and add the air purifier. I feel so much better now. Thanks...:cloud9:
