Hi everyone. I am trying to determine the best time to book our plane tickets for WDW in august. I have been checking airfares and if I am not mistaken, prices seem to be on the rise.

They are now around $200 roundtrip from Philadelphia

In your experience, by when (time frame) should I try to book airfare. I am not quite ready at this time but if it meant getting a better price then I would. I just don't want to wait too long and then have to pay a lot. :confused3

Also, any recommendations on airlines

Finally, any ideas on trip insurance

Thanks!

When southwest opens up their schedule for that time frame, generally a day or two later, other airlines will drop their prices a bit, to stay competitive. However, the prices are going up a bit because of higher gas prices and stuff, but I still think you should wait until SW posts their prices for that time frame and book a day or two later, unless you use SW, which of course you can book as soon as they become available!

EDITED to say: $200 r/t is not too bad of a price, so you might be better off with that price, it may only go down to around $180 or so r/t!

I'm also waiting for SW out of Philly. I was ready to book when the new dates were released. I need August 8th but they only went to August 3rd. I guess we will be waiting together. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I talked with SWA this last week and they said in 2 to 3 weeks the dates will be extended. I need aug 5th. Our air fare has gone up about $30 out of kansas city. I would be happy with $200.
Good Luck!

Our fare for Aug 13 was $138 RT on Spirit in AC. I booked it, my travel agent believes fares will be increading with the rise in gas prices. Of course, I have a family of 5, and if the fare went over $200, I would drive. Good Luck.

I am also waiting for SW Air. We have two FF tickets for USair, but I am nervous they will go under in June, we need 6 total tickets.

So I have to wait for SW.

Good Luck.

I booked mine last November on Jet Blue for $160.00. You can book a year in advance now, which is good. Their fares go up the closer you get to your date.

I booked when the fares were 186.00 with Delta. Last year, they went down to 132.00 but I didn't want to wait since we are going on a Disney Cruise for part of our trip. OH..... I can't wait!!!! :hourglass

We decided to book in December with Jet Blue, wasn't sure if we should wait to get a better deal or not, but we had the money, so decided we should do it then. Leaving in August from Boston to Orlando and paying $175.20 pp including taxes and everything.

We are also waiting for August 5th from Kansas City. We would love to have less than $200. We have also considered flying to Ft. Lauderdale. It is cheaper, and with 4 tickets it adds up.

We paid $151.00 for a Roundtrip on Airtran out of Rochester, NY for our August trip. Airtran just put some of their flights on sale for dates through August 22nd.
