Great to have you!

Joining in !! We liked the breakfast at Mara, too !!

I love breakfast, it's hard to mess up, but they really do a great job!

great pics! I am signing on and looking forward to your reviews! We leave in 24 days and I can't wait!!

You are getting so close!!!!:cool1:

Gotta just pop in and say GREAT!!!! Name for your Thread :rotfl2:

Love that lady!!

Your pics look super as well.

Happy planning y'all!

Thanks, we kept finding ourselves saying that on the trip, so it seemed like the perfect TR title, then when I decided to do dining, I wanted to work it in! :lmao:

Thanks for the comment on the photos, I have recently started blogging, and am doing alot with food, so I have been working on taking better food photos as part of that!

Great start - count me in :thumbsup2
I am edging towards lunch at LTT rather than dinner as I HAVE to try the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake but your dessert at dinner looks really nice as well

Glad you are joining in! I want to try lunch sometime, Josh really really likes the dinner though, so it might be a hard sell (even though he can get most of that at lunch LOL)

Great start to your reviews, however I'm with Linda, I have GOT to try the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake.

I must admit, your dinner looked really good :thumbsup2

I really do want to try the cake, I will say though that dessert was amazing.

Oh I LOVE reading your reviews!

It was great to see a review of LTT dinner because lunch seems the more popular meal there. My boyfriend is now very excited to eat there after seeing the size of your glass of milk!

You're right about the kids' breakfast being a steal. That's a lot of food for less than $5 - even if the bacon does look rather pathetic!

I'm really glad you are enjoying!! Is your boyfriend a big milk fan LOL?

The breakfast is almost too much for me sometimes, but I manage to suffer through it... :rotfl:

Columbia Harbor House

We had experienced Columbia Harbor House for the first time on our last trip, and had fallen in love with this not your typical counter service place. We had decided to head here when we were planning the trip, knowing that it would be the perfect meal for us to fill up but not over eat before our big reservation that night.

There wasnt a very long line, even though we were there right around noon. I was very happy as I expected it to be crazy.

When we walked in we were given a menu to look at.

Though being a good DISer I pretty much knew what I wanted before we got in there.

We ordered using the new tap to pay system. It is so easy. You tap and then enter your pin.

I like to eat upstairs, as it is way less crowded, and we found a table that looked over the area where everyone orders. I enjoyed looking down on the crowd, but not being a part of it.

I chose the fried shrimp and replaced my french fries with apples. I chose lemonade to drink, and the apple crisp for dessert.

These were fried to perfection! I am a big seafood eater at home, and these were just as fresh tasting as what I can get at home. Also there were a TON of them. I am surprised about how many they put on the plate. The apples were good, just a regular bag of apples. I didnt touch the coleslaw, as I dont eat mayo.

Josh went with the Fish and fries Coke, and the apple crisp.

Josh ate his fish with honey mustard. While that isnt the most normal combo I guess it was really good, because he ate it up!

The apple crisp was ok, not the best dessert we had while down there, but pretty tasty for a counter service offering!

We love this place, and I am sure we would be back. I would be close to saying this is my favorite counter service in Magic Kingdom because the food is stellar.

Columbia Harbour House is our favourite CS at Disney. I don't know what it is about that place as it really isn't anything special, it is just consistently good.

Totally agree, we love it in CHH
I really enjoy the tuna and the hummus sandwiches and DH loves the fried shrimp :)

It makes it seem special because it is consistently good :lmao:

I love fried shrimp. Really fried anything...

Oh I have to have some of that fried shrimp it looks incredible!

What a poor unsuspecting cast member giving a DIS-er a menu... Didn't they know you'd already made your choice months ago!? ;)

I try not to do that, but it happens :rotfl2:

Aloha Island

Neither Josh nor I had ever had a Dole Whip, so we knew this trip we needed to change that! We stood in line for quite a while to get this, and were not disappointed! We share a vanilla pineapple swirl.

We just tried Columbia Harbor House for the first time and really enjoyed it. Excited to read your reviews. This trip was so short and such a whirlwind, that I didn't even have time to really enjoy the food... besides Ohana's and Be Our Guest... and I felt very rushed at Ohana's this time and we were seated WELL after our reservation. It didn't change the food, but my experience there wasn't as I would normally expect.

You're making me hungry!! I love Dole Whips!

We do too now!

Hi
Great reviews!! Can't wait for more.
Thanks!!

I am glad you are enjoying!

I don't know if I would like that, I like to slow down and enjoy!

Just subscribed - looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews.

Glad you are joining in! I am working on more!

Subscribing! Great reviews-- and I looooove your title!

Love, love, love the title of your report! :lmao: Great reviews so far!

Glad everyone likes it! It goes perfectly with my trip report!

The Lunching Pad

We had a late dinner reservation, so another afternoon snack was needed! A Facebook friend (that I got to meet on this trip!) LOVES the Mickey Pretzels at Magic Kingdom, so it was on the list of things we needed to get! Josh and I shared a pretzel and cheese. SO YUMMY.

I know that the purists don’t like the cheese but I think it is really yummy! The pretzel was nice and chewy and there was plenty to share as a snack.
With a free cup of water this was a deal of a snack at just $5.64 including tax. We didn’t use a snack credit, we were saving those for bigger things!

I guess it changed a while ago, but we really liked it!

I know I am a bad DISer :sad2: But now that I have had a Dole Whip it will be an every trip thing!

Be Our Guest

Tonight’s dinner was booked before our trip was even booked. We were considering going down and I figured I should go ahead and book! We arrived early, and were told me could check in, but that there was no way we would be seated early, and that we would have to stay ON the bridge once we did. They recommended that we just relax until it was time to check in.

Once we did check in, we headed to the bridge to wait with all the other families hanging around.

The details in this area are just amazing. They put so much care into this area, it was crazy.

Josh, who is constantly teasing me for being on my phone was….

They ONLY thing that didn’t “fit” was this

I hope as they open more of the area they will remove this!

They did a fantastic job with crowd control here!

We waited a bit, but not too long, and our buzzer went off! We were welcomed to the castle, and I was asked to carry the candelabra as we were seated!

We walked through the doors, and I was just floored. It was like stepping into the movie.

We were seated at a VERY small table in the main ballroom. The room was beautiful, and so was the napkin rose!

The menu – The lighting in the restaurant was a little rough, most of these photos are not so great, sorry guys!

Our wonderful server Teri first brought us bread and salted butter.

I chose to enjoy a nice glass of something bubbly!

And Josh chose a beer.

To start we shared an order of muscles! “Mussels Provencal - with white wine, tomato, garlic, onion, basil and butter $10.99”

These were AMAZING. I love seafood, and from Maine, so I tend to be super picky (sorry not to sound snotty).

Josh and I both chose to enjoy the steak. “Grilled Strip Steak - with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites $29.99” I didn’t want the fries though, I really wanted to try the au gratin macaroni.

Teri, our sweet waitress said I could have the macaroni instead!

Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly. The only thing that I don’t like so much is how BIG they are. I mentioned in the opening that I am in the process of learning to eat correctly. One of the things I have struggled with the most is what is a portion, and I can tell you NO doubt this steak was at least three servings of meat. The garlic butter on top wasn’t amazing, but it was tasty. Josh’s steak had a bit of fat to it, but that is bound to happen.

The veggies were super yummy and I really enjoyed the macaroni! Josh tried the sauce for the fries on its own and wasn’t very impressed; however on the fries he LOVED it.

(Continued in next post due to too many photos!!!)

Teri explained how the dessert cart worked. She would bring it over, and we could make our selection. I chose the “Triple Chocolate Cupcake - chocolate sponge cake, chocolate mousse filling, and choclate ganache - $3.99”

I was given a spoon and she explained that the cupcakes are made for the beast who hates to get his paws dirty, so I should use a spoon and not try to remove the wrapper!

Josh chose the “Passion Fruit Cream Puff - filled with passion fruit mousse and topped with whipped cream - $3.99”

As Teri brought us back our card after paying, she also brought us something special. She said she knew I would appreciate this, as I had been so excited through the whole meal!

On our way out, we were sure to thank our wonderful host!

We also enjoyed the chatty suits of armor!

We would do dinner here again in a heart beat. The food was good, and it was like you stepped right into the movie!
