Ahoy November 12th, 2009 Cruisers!!

I am in the same "boat" :rotfl: I can't imagine not talking to my husband and my mom for two days, but I that is what we decided as I had posted those questions and most thought it was going to be the $5.48. I may drop an email to them, otherwise we are doing the no news is good news and I will only call if I have a problem. I plan on calling before we leave port(430ish or so) and then again Sun morning.

Another option is there are international calling cards, but I didn't see the bahamas listed on the one I looked at, so I wasn't sure how much time there would be on it.

You should be able to buy cheap calling cards in Nassau. Another option is stopping at an Internet cafe in Nassau and sending an email. Certainly cheaper than the ship's internet access.

St Thomas and St Croix are US territories so the US carriers generally include them in their "nationwide" coverage. I know Spint has the USVI and Puerto Rico. The Bahamas would fall under International rates.

Calls on the ship would be subject to the Disney charge AND your carrier's charge. You might want to look into adding an international plan just for the month and then drop it once you are back which "should" lower the amount of Verizon's charges.

Thanks Jill. Figured you would be the one to know :thumbsup2

Hi all

Stopping in with a quick hello before heading to Zumba class. I had a huge TO DO list for this past weekend and I didn't get to cross off much. Where does the time go. I figured I would be the only left not packed. I still don't know what I am packing and we leave for WDW in a few days!

Hoping all stay healthy (and kidney-stone free!) and the weather report keeps looking good. See you soon.

Check weather report and water temps for Florida and Bahamas- check
book beachfront hotel for Nov 8- Nov11 - check
print magnets - check
finish online cruise check-in - check
truck clean so I can trade for brother's Jetta without embarrasment - check
pay ticket so I won't come home to a warrant - check! (state inspection sticker seems to be on the window so you will look at it...)

Got a lot done the last two days. Hope to get my hair done tomorrow! I had to talk DH and DD into leaving on Sunday. I offered to book a cheap hotel for Sun night then move to nice hotel on Mon. DH let me book the nice hotel all 3 nights!!! Gotta love him.
I am having trouble figuring out if I should take my wetsuit again. I have a 5mm full suit. It was nice to have in Feb. The water temps seem like they will be a little warmer than Feb....Decisions, decisions.

May our checklists be full of checkmarks! pixiedust:

I've seen the 10 day outlook for Orlando and Nassau........anyone have any information about the water temps? I'm hoping it'll be warm enough to enjoy. Of course, where we live, any ocean warmer than 60 degrees is considered warm!

Lovin' the water and forecast.... crossing my fingers and toes that nothing drastic changes. Can't wait to put my toes in some sand!!!:beach:

Hi Friends! We're so excited here we can hardly sit still! :dance3:

We're leaving in seven days! I know some of you are leaving soon and I pray for safe travels, clear skies, and smooth touchdowns for each of you.

We'll see ya NEXT WEEK!

Hello All!
My family (me, DH, DS8, DS6, DD2) will be joining you next week! We are so excited! I am going to start packing clothes today. Still trying to figure out what to do in Nassau. I want to stay on the ship but DH wants to get off. Happy, safe travels to all!

We don't have any excursions planned for Nassau. Just planning to get off, look around, maybe Pirate Museum, but rest of day on the boat. I'm traveling with DH, DS 5.5 and DD 3.5. Maybe our kids can hook up. See you at the meet at the Goofy Pool

Kris

When is the Goofy Pool meet? Also, it sounds like many of you may do Sea World on Sunday, but we are doing Gatorland, if anyone's interested. Our flight home is in the late afternoon. I'm hoping we get off the ship early, head to Gatorland and then maybe to Downtown Disney before the airport.

DCL Rookie - My boys loved the Pirate Museum when they were 4 and 6 (they would still like it now). It's a nice walk, though it might be a little long for your 3.5 yr old in the sun.

Welcome SylviaL!!! The meet is at 3pm by the Goofy Pool on the first day (12th). See you onboard!

:confused:Hey Lynne, maybe a dumb question but which night do we do the FE exchange?

I'll answer for Lynn! :rotfl:

You can do the FE gift exchange any time you wish during the cruise.

Everyone, please make sure to put your FE out as soon as you can on the first day. You may want to carry it along in your day bag so you can put it out as soon as you get to your room - goodies start appearing as soon as it's placed outside your door! :thumbsup2

That sounds great to me!

Just found out that DS 17 will need to have ultrasound guided biopsies on Friday 11/13. Thank God for grandparents that are so supportive (and the internet cafe on the ship)!

OH NO! Thoughts are prayers are coming your way.

Thanks Harmony :flower3:

I know I will be delivering our gifts before dinner on the first night. I like to do it early so that I don't put it off to the last minute.

I think what Lynn means is that we need to get the FEs out of our suitcases so we have room to hide our purchases!!!!!
