Ahh! VMK is taking over my life!

I'm so addicted; I don't know why but stuff like vmk and neopets are sooo very very addictive! I mean, I have to get on EVERY DAY to see if there's new stuff I might miss, and I work so hard to get items and credits. I don't think this game is even possible to play with just like an hour a day or so. Not for me at least... I know I'm not the only one, I see some people who are on pretty much all day. I'm usually on for like more than five hours a day, I'd say. But the bad thing is I'm doing really horribly in school, procrastination and such, and I think this vmk addiction is contributing to that. I know if I tried to quit I'd go crazy knowing I'd miss all my friends and new items and stuff... anybody else have a problem like this? Any ideas on how I can deal with this? I really don't want to quit vmk but I don't exactly want to fail my classes either... >_<

I think you really need to cut back. Five hours a day is a lot! Instead of quitting altogether, maybe you could try cutting back your hours to three or so. Play the games you're REALLY good at to be sure you make the most credits in the least amount of time. That way you have more time to just hang out with friends and chat. Also, if you play Mansion or Pirates, you can make credits and be with friends at the same time!

I know we're driven to want more, more, more... but I think if you play for an hour or two each day you can manage to make enough credits each week to buy the weekend specials. It probably means you won't be able to buy 5 of each, but honestly --- do you really need that many? I know a lot of my extras just go into storage and collect dust. Save them for trade --- sure, that is if you even remember they're there.

School is so important. And I don't mean to sound like an overbearing adult But if you don't do well now, get into good schools, and get those higher degrees, your opportunities in life will be limited. The simple fact is that no one's going to hire you to work for them without that education. I see it happening every day. VMK is fun and great, but it's not going to be around forever. Make sure you take care of yourself and your future!

Confessions of a VMKer...

Today a co-worker as me what I did this weekend.

For Sunday I said I was at Disneyland (true)

For Saturday I said I did nothing (which is false)

Saturday I was on and off (more on) VMK from 7 AM until 8 PM. I was determined to finish the quests. Got as far as the pink car. Now working on the yellow. Heaven only knows how long that car will take.

Do not worry i have the sam problem just do your home work and study before you get on the computer. they helped me.
