I just made a cake for my friend's b-day and it hasn't turned out the greatest. For the icing, the recipe recommended melting the icing first and just pour it over the cake. Well, it made quite a mess but there's nothing I can do about that now. I've cleaned it up as much as I can. Anyway, I was thrilled to be finished and went to put the lid over the cake. Well, the cake is too big. The lid touched the top of the cake and made even more of a mess. I fixed it up with more icing the best I could (looks worse now!) and I tried to put foil on top (with toothpicks in cake) but the foil still got onto the cake and stuck (so I put more icing on)!!! Oh this cake is pathetic!
Anyway, how can I store this cake in the refrigerator? We're not eating it until tomorrow. There's a pudding layer in the cake so it must be refrigerated. Any ideas on what kind of lid to use? The lid that goes with the set isn't deep enough and the alluminum foil just made a big mess. Eek! I KNEW there's a reason I don't bake!!
Thanks!!
