Very respectfully, reading this thread, I would have to disagree with you. It appears the bulk of posters simply don't want to serve on juries, whether because it merely inconveniences them or because it may force a budget stretch, or them to make home schedule changes (again, inconvenience). Or they just don't want to serve. For those of you who really don't want to serve on Federal juries, try this: Show up. Get picked. Arrange, coincidentally, for your spouse to have a heart attack that same day. Call the court that night or the next morning (because, frankly, this happened pre-cellphone). Get excused temporarily. Never get picked again.
