(Id like to preface this update by saying that I really have not been looking forward to writing about this one chapter of our trip. Nothing bad happened, however, it does make Wingnut and I seem really lame and boring, and I promise that we are much more fun than this story makes us sound.)
(Well, not THAT much more fun.)
---
We wandered back in the direction of Toy Story Mania to find that it had reopened, and so we headed inside to redeem our FPs. We went through the FP queue, and so we didnt get to see all of the fun toy elements, but what we did see was pretty cool.
Proof that yes, we FINALLY went to TSM:
Here is the point in my trip report that Im positive that I will lose approximately every last ounce of my Dis credibility, and absolutely no one will trust my opinion ever again. Ready?
We did not like Toy Story Mania.
(Yeah, I know.)
I can hear people now throwing up their hands in exasperation, HOW COULD SHE HATE TOY STORY MANIA?? THATS LIKE HATING CUPCAKES!
(For the record, I never said the word hate.)
(And I like cupcakes.
Except for the Red Velvet Cheesecake one.)

Alright, so Im sure youve noticed by now that Wingnut and I tend to stick to the slower-moving rides. So when the little car thing whipped around the first turn, I knew that this may not have been the most brilliant idea for us. I spent the majority of the ride bracing myself against the front of the ride vehicle, afraid that one of the turns would slam my chest into the gun. Wingnut doesnt fare much better on these kinds of rides, he has a bad back and gets nauseous on spinning rides.
(Clearly, we are an exciting and fun duo to be around.

)
Even with the spinning and other movement aside, I really didnt see the hype behind the ride. It just seems like a more-brightly lit 3D version of Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin, with different pictures. Maybe if I were more enthusiastic about the arcade shooting-style games, Id be singing the praises of TSM, but it definitely did not make our list of must-dos. Wingnut, who is far better than I am at these games, wasnt too enthralled with the ride either.
Anyways, here are our scores. (Told you he was better than I am at these.)
We got off of the ride, and looked at each other in some sort of bewilderment over what had just happened. THIS was the ride that people were practically trampling each other to get on??
I had been on the fence about Star Tours since reports were pretty vague over whether it was jerkier than the previous version or not. This kind of sealed the deal for me, and I decided that I did not want to try Star Tours after that (as cool as the new version does look!). Wingnut had been interested in going on the new version, but didnt want to go if I wasnt going to (I did offer to keep him company in the queue).
Wingnut left it up to me as to where I wanted to go next, and I picked the tamest attraction that I could think of: One Mans Dream.
While Wingnut can take or leave One Mans Dream, I really do enjoy meandering around the different exhibits. I dont usually feel bad dragging him in when its raining (its dry in there!), but when he leaves the attraction choice up to me and were right by OMD
well, theres no way Im passing that up!
We wandered around the familiar exhibits, and then heard the announcement that the movie would be starting momentarily. Wingnut had never seen the movie before, and I couldnt remember the last time Id seen it, so it seemed like excellent timing to watch it. Wingnut dutifully followed me into the mostly-empty theater.
If youve never seen the movie, it definitely is wonderful and interesting. (And the theater has nice and comfy seats!)
We exited out into the bright sunshine, and decided what to do next. We had an ADR at Sci-Fi for lunch, but we were starting to run out of Things We Absolutely Must Do At DHS Today. Wingnut suggested riding The Great Movie ride again, but I passed. We walked over to see what time the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular was showing, but it wouldnt be for another hour and a half or so.
As I had mentioned in the previous update, this was our second to last full day at Disney, and it was beginning to dawn on us that we had yet to have bought any souvenirs by this point. We decided that we should probably do some shopping, and Downtown Disney was our best bet for merchandise selection. Although we had really wanted to go to Sci-Fi for lunch, we decided to leave DHS and cancel our ADR, partially because there wasnt much else we were compelled to do there (beyond 6 more showings of the Muppets

), and we hadnt been doing too well on the whole being hungry for lunch thing anyways.
Next time, we promised ourselves and each other, we will DEFINITELY go to Sci-Fi.
We made our way out of the park, past the crowds of people at the turnstyles (it was around 10:30 at this point, we were one of the very few groups leaving the park now!), and towards the bus stops.
