AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

Excited to hear more about your wedding planning trip!

I love reading and following along because it helps bide my time I'm not in Disney :) helps fill the void to live it through others :D

Thanks!!! Same here!! :goodvibes

What a nice way to end your TR! I hate good byes but can totally deal with "see ya real soon!" I'm so happy and excited for you and Wingnut and look forward to reading along as you plan your wedding!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I look at these things every trip. They are a bit expensive for my souvenir budget. I have seen a porcupine, and it definitely is cute.

So true about DIStown. :thumbsup2

Happy planning!

Three weeks from yesterday begins our newest Disney adventure. :dance3:

Oh, this is definitely one of the teeny tiny small ones!!! The big guys get SO expensive! The porcupine was a tiny one too!

It really is! ::yes::

Great wrap-up Sara!

It's so funny that you mention those awkward goodbye's when you still end up walking a ways with the person. That's so true! :rotfl2:

Thanks!!!

Hahahaha that ALWAYS happens to me!! :rotfl:

I love everything you bought! Your little crab is so cute! And the retro Epcot shirt is awesome! I think I'm going to have to get some type of Epcot shirt on my next trip, it's only right! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear about your wedding plans and your October trip!

Thanks!!! Hahaha that's what I figured too, I HAD to get one!

What a wonderful TR, thank you for sharing your amazing trip! I also can't wait to read more about the upcoming wedding and all the planning!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

And another fabulous TR comes to an end (thats 2 I am following that finished this week!) Just like you feel when you are on the trip of wishing the last day did not come so I feel when the TR is done!

So cannot wait for your next one! I mean what could be better than a Wedding Planning Trip!?!

Well the Wedding Trip!!

But first you will have to let us in on more details!!

Hahaha I know, a few I read too finished recently as well!!

Thanks!!! Hahaha that is true, I definitely will!

Happy planning! Can't wait to keep reading about your adventures.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Great souvenirs!!! We have a couple of the animals from Mexico -- always the little ones, but they are so neat, we can't resist them. :thumbsup2

Thank you for sharing your trip with us! I have enjoyed it all and can't wait to tag along for wedding planning. :goodvibes

They are SO cute!!! The little ones are the only ones I'd consider getting though!!!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Great wrap-up! I am happy to report that I did successfully transport home a porcupine. I don't think they removed all the "spikes" but they did pack it well enough in a box that there was no problem. I love those animals. I read somewhere they've moved their "station" inside the pavilion instead of that little lobby area.

Totally agree with you on Epcot resorts :cloud9: but it is nice to check others out.

And agree with you on the great community within the DIS. It's very special.

Loved following along on your trip and looking to do the same with your wedding planning! :)

Thanks!!!

Ohhh that's how they do it!!! I'm glad to hear that you did get one home safely, I REALLY want to get one this time around!!!

I am glad that we gave the Poly a try!!

The Dis really is a fantastic place!! :goodvibes

It's definitely not good-bye but see ya real soon - since it is so exciting to look forward to your October trip!!! How completely exciting!!! The DisBoards are such a great forum to share the excitement and even the trials of life. Glad that you shared it all with us. :goodvibes

Your list of new restaurants that you tried included some of my favorites as well. As for your resort preference - I completely agree about the Epcot area resorts. I love to be able to walk to 2 parks.

I'm looking forward to your October report and hearing all about the wedding!! :thumbsup2

Exactly!!! Hahaha. Yes, I do love the community we have here on the Dis, it's so great!

Yay, I'm glad we'll be going to some of your favorites!! Any recommendations on what to get?

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Great TR!!! I'm really excited to hear about your wedding plans!

Thanks for sharing all the fun information and restaurant reviews!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Just wanted to stop in so you know I didn't give up on this thread...work got super-busy, and then trip planning got super-busy. No time even for a PTR of my own. I have been trying to keep up with your adventures. Your pictures and comments always bring a smile to my face (you even make the not-so-great parts seem good). So, some thoughts...

OMG!!!! You're engaged!!! Whoo-hoo!!!! So happy for you both. :yay: And you're having a Disney Wedding and Disney-moon!!!! So awesome! We'll be there in October, too, but towards the end of October...is there a chance we may bump into you at the parks?

Honestly, I don't know if I'm happier about your engagement, or that you finally got your Beaker hat :woohoo: DH and I now have the whole collection...Beaker, Animal, and Kermit. We haven't really gotten the chance to wear the new ones much, though, and I doubt October in Florida will be a good time :lmao:

Can't wait to hear about your October trip and all your wedding plans. F&W 2012!!! :dance3:

Awww I TOTALLY understand, glad you stopped by again!!

Thank you!!!!!!! :goodvibes

:lmao: I do have to say, both were happy occasions!!! (I think the engagement wins out for me though, personally!) Yeah, I don't think I'll even be bringing Beaker along!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I'm sorry that this TR has to come to a close, but I'm very happy that the next one is right around the corner! :goodvibes

You guys did great with the souvenirs, and I'm surprised how many of the treats made it home for the photo. We always bring home rice crispy treats with the plan of eating them over the next few weeks, and they are always gone the next day! :rotfl2:

Thank you!!! :goodvibes Hahahaha oh yeah, our Disney food treats never make it much longer than a week! :rotfl:

Great wrap-up! I'm looking forward to hearing all about the wedding plans!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Great wrap up, love the retro Epcot shirt!

Can't wait to hear about all the wedding planning!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

What a great wrap up! :thumbsup2

I'm excited to read about your wedding planning and your October TR! I'm sure lots of F&W snackies will be had! :goodvibes

Thanks!!! :goodvibes Hahahaha oh you can count on that with us!!! :thumbsup2

Nooooo! I don't want it to be over!

I agree, the DIS is so much more than a place to plan and report about trips, it's special! :lovestruc

I cannot wait to hear about the October trip and the wedding planning! Oh and the Epcot resorts will be perfect for your honeymoon! Cannot wait to hear which one you choose. :goodvibes

Awwww I don't want it to be over either!!! But a new adventure is right around the corner!!

Agreed, it definitely is special!!! :goodvibes

Thanks!!!

Love your souvies. Love your ending. Love that you guys got engaged and will undoubtedly be taking many more trips.

Sorry you didn't like the Poly, but at least you tried something new.

Please let me know when you start a PTR or whatever you are going to do for wedding planning

Awww thank you!!!! :goodvibes

Exactly!! I really did enjoy some aspects of it, but overall, just not for us!

I will probably just tag along any PTR for this next trip onto this report...I really don't have too much to say, actually!!!

"Who needs Prince Charming when you have chocolate" - wow, I absolutely love that. :rotfl: Your Epcot and TTA shirts are also so incredibly cool.

Great finale to your report! While it's sad to say this report is finished, I can't wait to hear about everything in October! That's one of the best parts about WDW reports - they really help fill in the 'void' between Disney trips, as well as relive some incredible memories. I hope you have a magical wedding planning trip. :goodvibes

Hahaha I loved that one too!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes I agree completely!!!

Loved the wrap up, and refuse to be sad that the TR is over--since I know there's another one right around the corner! :goodvibes

Hi there Sarah! :wave2: How's the wedding planning coming? I was looking in your signature to see if you had started a PTR or PDR but then I realize that you have a LOT going on right now anyway!

Wanted to wish you all the best with all the exciting plans!! :goodvibes

Hey Brenda! Wedding planning is coming along, I know that the bulk of it will be done when we go for our planning session, so we've just been brainstorming various ideas.

I'll be doing some PTR posts in this report, so a few more things to come here!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

I know that I said I'd be doing some PTR posts for our October trip here as well, and I'm not sure if "lack of seemingly-interesting things to say" counts as a legitimate excuse, but I'm using it (and you'll soon see why, in this "probably the most boring PTR post ever").

Really, not much has been done for the trip itself. We picked up cheap ($2) ponchos today, along with an assortment of teeny tiny toiletries.

Oh, and I haven't changed our resort, or any of our ADR's.

Seriously. No changes. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?! :faint:

Yes, wedding planning has been taking up most of my planning intensity. There's a whole bunch of random little details to think about before our planning session, so that's been DF and my focus.

Other than that, no ME info yet (hoping it doesn't turn into a repeat of January's adventures with that!), but there's still time.

We looked at the F&W menus the other day, and honestly, we were hoping to be more excited about them than we actually were. Maybe I needed more of a visual to go with the text, a la Denny's, but only a few items really jumped out at us as MUST TRY THIS.

Things I thought looked intriguing: Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream (Belgium); Dark Chocolate Mousse with Chili and Salted Caramel (Desserts & Champagne); Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Baileys Ganache (Ireland); Seared Filet of Beef with smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braai Sauce (South Africa); Ropa Vieja (braised beef) with Cilantro Rice (Caribbean); and the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree (Argentina).

Dessert and beef, in short.

Clearly, I need help here. What are you guys excited for/have enjoyed in the past/think looks awesome?

I'm not planning out what we will get from any particular country! I figure we will get something from just about every country. The only country's we will skip are ones that only have seafood as hubby is allergic. I will probably stay away from a lot of the seafood as well but there are a few I really want to try!

A Few things off the top of my head I know I am looking forward to is the Mushroom Filet from Canada (more beef! lol), the Cheese fondue (can't remember where from!?!), the lamb chop, the griddled cheese.

I've loved reading along. You're right, the DIS is such a great place for us to have a community to get to know each other through our mutual love of Disney. I can't wait to hear about October. :goodvibes

P.S. You have inspired me to finally purchase one of the Beaker hats....

Okay, here are my thoughts on the F&W offerings:

Belgian Waffle is great. Very light and fluffy, you'll love it.

Warm Chocolate Lava cake was my absolute favorite thing there, also along with the Fisherman's pie from Ireland. That stuff was epic.

The Ropa Vieja was one of my other favorites. It was done just right and was so tender.

The Grilled Beef skewer was also really good. I loved the Chimichurri Sauce that they make it with.

Swedish Meatballs with lingonberries = Yuuummmmm

Ravioli from Italy was very good

The Seared Filet of Beef from South Africa was underwhelming for me, but that may also be because I had consumed too much alcohol....:bitelip:

I think that the vegan booth is intriguing to me. I would definitely give it a try myself, but I was also a vegetarian for quite a number of years.

Well...I'm not overly excited because there aren't a ton of things for me (vegetarian) other than LOTS and LOTS of desserts, but I'm excited about the vegan booth they are opening! :goodvibes I went through the map and list of what foods were available and marked booths that had something for me. There was PLENTY and I'm sure I can fill up with WINE if needed! :lmao: Rey is a meat eater, so he'll love most of the items. It's our first time going ALONE and even though we only have 2 park days this November trip, they are mostly going to be at Epcot for F&W, so I feel like we'll have enough time to try lots! :thumbsup2

If you have time between all that planning, take some pics of your favorites and report, I would love to see some of the offerings before our trip!

We have had and enjoyed all the highlighted samples. Fisherman's Pie was a 'chance' I took, and I liked it.

The filet mignon in Canada is my #1 quest for this trip, and I think I want to try the ravioli in Italy and the pork and sweet corn salad at the Florida booth.

These seriously all sound so good. Cynthia and I have so much eating planned for this trip that I am certain to be in a food coma by the time it is all over. I need a second stomach and a set of "fat clothes" for the end of my trip. :rotfl2:

I hope you do get your ME stuff promptly, unlike last time!

Love the souvenirs! Especially the retro Epcot shirt!
A great wrap up to a great tr. can't wait to follow along with the next stage!

Aww, I loved this TR! I actually can't believe it's over, even though it's been going on for so long. I am SO excited to hear about your next trip, and the planning leading up to it! :goodvibes

Hahaha, no changes? Color me shocked! :lmao:

Finally caught up - I can't believe that it's over! I love all the retro Epcot stuff that you got and I'm so jealous that you get to be there when all the 30th stuff is out!

Glad to hear that your wedding plan is going well! Can't wait to hear about your planning session. Are you doing a food tasting as well?

yay for trip and wedding planning progress!

Out of your F&W list, the pork skewer with chimichurri sauce has been a favorite of mine since about 2006!

I also love the baileys cake!

My hands down favorite is the pork lettuce wrap with kimichi slaw (or however it is spelled). It is really, really yummy and worth a shot!

I've never done food and wine, so I have nothing to contribute. I do look forward to hearing about what you eat though!

We've done F&W once before ( a few years ago) and the only thing I can remember trying is an empanada.... There are so many things I wanna try this year ( next week!) hahha!!!!
