Have you ever visited after Thanksgiving? We are going the week following Turkey Week and want to know how to pack clothing-wise, and also we're really hoping to go swimming while we're there. We know that the pools are heated, but is it really warm enough to enjoy the pools at the end of November? This is our first Christmas trip. Thanks.

We went in 2010 and the kids went in the pool twice. It's really hit or miss that time of year. Pools are heated and they're kids so mine seemed to have a good time.

I have been almost every year after the week after Thanksgiving and I can tell you if I could predict the weather in Florida for that week, I would not be working in a government job.

It has run the gamut from high 50's to low 90's. It is not the Caribbean, it is Florida.

Check the weather a few days before and then pack according to what you would wear for that temperature. I suggest layers that you could tolerate carrying around if it got warm, or glad you had if it got cold.

I agree...the weather is pretty much a coin toss at this time of year. We've had mid-70 days and other days where it was hard pressed to make it to 60. Pretty much figure that you are going to need clothing for all temps as even though it may get into the 70s the evenings at that time of the year will cool off fast.

we are hoping to "squeeze in" a just after thanksgiving trip this year.

we ahve been the first week of dec. twice. the first time was our first ever winter trip, and we thought it was chilly (littel did we know).. it wasn't bad at all, high 70s and 50s at night. no kids, so didnt' swim much,, a couple times. but did spend timje sunning by the pool (kids will swim till there lips turn blue!)

at night, it was like "well, should I wear shorts, with a sweatshirt? of jeans with a tshirt?" but not cold at all

last dec.? forget about it! FREEZING!!! jeans, winter jacket, still cold . hardly any pool time .

but never been right after thanskgiving. so be prepared... hubby laughed at me getting off the plane at MCo from chgo, with my winter jacket. (it was still nice) he WISHED he had a winter jacket later in the week! I even brought gloves.
