Since the closing of PI, what are adults and singles finding for nightlife entertainment at WDW?

the Boardwalk has jellyrolls (dueling pianos), atlantic dance hall, espn club, big river brewry. and the swan is a short walk, with karaoke.

Kararoke at the Swan??? Where??? that could be fun!

Rix at CSR too.

I think the Karaoke is at Kimono's. I've heard that since this is a restaurant a lot of kids participate too, but I've never been.

yes, karaoke is at Kimono's which is a japanese restaurant/sushi, on the first floor.
kids are supposedto be out by 10 pm.
we have particiapted 4 times. only once were we bothered by kids. we were staying at the Dolphin (swans sister resort) and had lots of fun one night. the next night, we watched illuminations, then decided to stop back in on our way "home". there were about 10 preteen girls sitting crosslegged in front of the stage, with one singing. we started to leave. the KJ(like a DJ, only karaoke) recognized os, and said "they are leaving soon, it's only a little past 10"
I'm sure we couldve have waited a bit, but we were tired anyway.
no flames. please, but there is lots for kids at WDW. this is a nightclub, for adults . by 10 pm, it's time for kids to go to bed (or at least, not in the nightclub)
the other times: twice it was not too crowded, we even found out the large party of adults next to us were originally from our homw town! great fun!
the one other time, it was crowded with "conventioneers'. they were pretty "tipsy", having fun, singing off key, etc. not great for "serious" karaokee singers, a long rotation for singing, but still a lot of fun!
if you go, be aware of transportation issues. one of the times, we were at pop centruy. we were going to take the bus to mgm, then the boat to the swan. (the same in reverse at the end of the night. BUT! we had to make sure to leave in time to catch the last bus out of mgm after fantasmic. we had a car, and I saw it was a 10 minute drive, tops! so we drove (yes, one of us watched how much we drank, to be designated driver).
you can always take the resort bus to DTD, and catch a bus to your resort. it just takes a while.

I vote for Jellyrolls - I love that place!

OMG. I love that place too! :lmao:

I was just telling someone today "This one time at Jellyrolls......"

I then realized that I have a lot of those stories cause I love the place so much  If I was crazy I would plan a trip down just for Jellyrolls. Now that I'm thinking.....maybe I am crazy :rotfl:.

even though I recommended it, I have never been! (hubby's fault!). we have been many times to pat O'Briens at Universal city Walk, . we have stayed 2 times at the Dolphin, and once at Boardwalk (renting points). we were supposed to go to Jellyrolls, but he balked at the $10 cover. (Pat Obrien's doesn't have a cover if you get there early enough).
so, we went to Kimonos, for Karaokke (again). he loves to sing (he IS quite the crooner). hhhmm, I sense a conspiracy!? (ok, a conspiracy has to involve 2 people.. a plot, if you will).
in july we are renting points at beach club and, BY GOLLY! we are going to Jellyrolls!!!(or I am, anyways!) wanna have a dismeet, in case I'm by myself?:rotfl:

If you are with your partner and looking to grab a good dinner after a drink Downtown Disney is the best place . The waterfront comes alive with seaside sensations at a variety of great entertainment and dining venues. and many more like catching a live sports broadcast, or join in a sing-along at an old-time piano bar.

I am actually enjoying the new DTD....

Raglan Road - Sitting at the bar having munchies and watching the entertainment; last time a guitarist, a flutist, and a clog dancer.

The drinks at Paradiso 37... and the appetizer menu.

Watching college football at the bar at the Rainforest Cafe on the Saturday afternoon that I arrive....

A stroll around the area with an ice cream from Ghiradelli's.

drinks/music at Paradiso 37 at DTD
Raglan Road at DTD (live Irish music, I think)
Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk (I would avoid Atlantic Dance, I've heard it's usually pretty dead)
Kimono's at The Swan for Karaoke. They WILL kick kids out at 9 or 10 and after that if you tr to order ANYTHING they will card you and kick you out if you're under 21 (I was there with a bunch of friends one time, ONE girl was only 20 and they made us all leave)

Dsis and I always plan our trips around our visits to JR's(LOL) We had a 10 day trip during the holidays just so we could go to JR's on NYE.

Read there was a DJ at Rix Lounge, but how hard is it to get there with no car? Staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I would take a taxi. I don't think it would be more than $10 one way. You could take a bus to DTD and transfer, but for me it's not worth the wait.

Rix can be hit or miss. I suggest you call ahead to see if it's dead or not.

We haven't been but they do have a web site and to be honest the place looks like a very nice lounge regardless of the crowd. We hope to check it out in September.

It's a great lounge :thumbsup2 But it doesn't matter how nice the place is when you are one of five people in the place and the creepy guy at the end of the bar keeps sending you drinks cause he wants to "talk" :rotfl:. Lets face it, all bars/clubs/lounges are WAY more fun when they have a good crowd. Easier to escape the creeps that way too ;)

do you know the name of the piano bar at DTD? (you aren't thining of the dueling pianos at Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk, are you?) I hope you are right, we'll be at POR soon, a short boat trip to DTD

the only piano bar at Disney is Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. the only "bars" open at DTD right now are Paradiso 37 and Raglan Rd. (although of course you can get drinks at Rainforest Cafe, DisneyQuest if you have access to that, and that T-Rex restaurant)

Thanks for all the information, looks like the Boardwalk and Swan are the areas to checkout. I will find out in 3 weeks, can't wait.:cool1:
