After Christmas % Off thread

I was in target today and asked the service lady if she knew when they would go 75% off and she said they would tell them tomorrow but she sorta expected it might start tomorrow. Ours had tons of stuff left at 30 and 50% off so want to hit them back. We hit big at Sam's, Not really a % off but most things marked at least 50%, some much more. We got a huge box of cookie mix that makes 15 dozen cookies for about 2.00 and a giant pumpkin bread mix for less than that!! We LOVE their wrapping paper and it was a great deal. They had tons of candy/cookie tins too but we resisted except for one tin of some yummy cookies!

The Target store near me (Minnesota) today went to 50% off food items and 70% off all other Christmas. They seem to have a lot of just about everything still.

Mine, too. I'm in PA. Got lots of really nice toys, including a Lego set, Sofia and princess stuff for my toddler's birthday next month, Elf on the Shelf kit and pop figure. Plus, Christmas lights and an inflatable for the yard. Possible the best after Christmas sale selection ever.

No. Retailers are trying harder and harder to not have stuff left to clearance. This harkens back to decades ago when retailers ordered just what they thought they could sell in a reasonable time. If you are my age, 50s, you pretty much had to buy stuff when it hit the store so that you could be assured to get it.

Since the recession began, it is clear that chains like Target are working much harder on inventory control. That said, my Target had far more left this year than in the last few years.

NEOhio Target was 50% off on all xmas (food included which was only 30% off day after xmas). Some toys 30% off but not much of a selection.

Stopped at CVS tonight- they had 75% off Christmas- including some toys and gift items. My big score was Hallmark gift bags- 2 pack that was $4.00 came down to $1. I also picked up some cute Hallmark Charlie Brown Christmas items at 75% off
