After August 5th Code Watch

Just called...CM said it wouldn't be out for a while since the one was released thru August 5 this week... Here we go again!!! :hourglass :badpc: :hourglass :badpc: :hourglass :badpc:

Who knows what Disney is doing with APs now, but if things go like they did with this newest AP rate, then we may be waiting until around June 17 :confused3 Who knows at this point. I'll just keep checking!!!

Being positive, June 17 is only about 4 weeks away...and if they are kind to us, I will be very grateful :). I actually thought they may have brought further dates out this week and that they were just clearing some of the empty rooms that had for July first, but with the way things have been over the past few weeks who knows.

Looking for codes Aug 12-19. I'd love Poly. I hope we don't have to wait another month.

We're doing Poly Aug 13-20; also hoping for that code, but if not we'll stick with the AAA rate that we have now.

Add me to the mix. We are taking our first kidless vacation to WDW since 1999. We are staying at the GF August 7-11. Boy would I really like a code to come out. We've got AAA discount, but I am always up for more.

I am not sure what to expect this time... :confused3

Every year AP codes have been released in early May for check ins just after July 4th through Labor Day. The codes are also for most properties, not a selected few.

I wonder why they only offered through August 5th this time? (So far...We will get a code.......Say it with me! We will get a code!)

Probably because they want to see how many rooms are booked with the free dining.

They probably are not offering AP rates on the other resorts for July/early August because they are already have high occupancy.

That's what I thought, *perhaps* they will bring in new AP rates when the deadline for booking the dining plan has passed.

I am new to this. What are codes? We booked 8/28-9/05 with AAA with free dining. Are codes other discounts that can be combined? Thanks Newbie :cool1: :cheer2:

Disney releases codes that will lower your rate. There are package rates (hotel & tickets), Annual Pass rates (valid for AP holders only), room only rates that anyone can use. Basically it's like a coupon. When you call Disney you give them the code (that will no doubt be widely circulated on the DIS) and they adjust your room rate accordingly. Just like you got a rate through AAA at a discount only this discount will be through Disney themselves.

Right now, the only codes that have been released are for AP holders at select resorts and unfortunately, they don't apply to your dates of travel. Keep you AAA rate and compare it to the WDW code rate when they come out to see which is a better deal for you.

You also cannot have more than one offer applied to the same reservation. So, you have free dining and you wouldn't be able to apply another code on top of that one.

You are likely right Debbie. We have gone the last five years during the last week in August, and it is not a busy time at all. I don't know how the free dining will efffect that. Most of the country is back in school, except up here in the North, where most of us return after Labor Day. I wouldn't think most parents would plan to take their kids out during the first weeks of school.
I do not think occupancy rates will climb that high for late August, and I am really hoping that I am right, and that we will see that reflected in a great code!

Joining the bandwagon..........hoping for codes!! August 16 - 23 - Boardwalk PLEASE!!! Am holding AAA just to have a villa .......... Sigh.........Hurry Up Disney PLEASE
Thanks!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

We go in August too. The crowds are down considerably, especially the last two week of August. And August is only about a degree hotter than June and July. Less rain too, though the threat of hurricanes increases in late August.

Here are my thoughts on the effects of free dining. I don't think it will entice that many more people to take a WDW vacation in August and September than were already going - some, but not a ton. But I bet it will change a lot of people's mind about whether to stay on site or not. It also may free up enough money for some to upgrade to mods and deluxes. That's why I think the effect is not going to be that big on park attendance, but resort occupancy will by up especially in the mods and deluxes. Bottom line, Splash Mountain is still going to be a 15 to 45 minute wait most of the day (as opposed to 60-90 minutes) but your pool is going to be more crowded. Just a guess (though I did feed the data into the computer that determined the location of the last Wonka Bar, and it agreed with me).

i THOUGHT MAYBE THE DELUXES WOULD BE LIGHTER ON CROWDS BECAUSE THE ADVRTISING FOR FREE DINING WAS-- STAYING AT A VALUE RESORT GET FREE DINING. i WAS NOT EVEN GOING TO CALL AND TRY TO GET FREE DINING (WE'RE STAYING AT THE YACHT CLUB) BUT IT WORKED. sO EXCITED ABOUT THIS TRIP fIRST ONE :moped: :moped: :moped: WITH KIDS IN 13 YEARS.

Subscribing.

I'm hoping for a good AP code for end of Aug/beginning of Sept.

I'm hoping to get my husband to take me for our anniversary to AKL. The only way it will happen is if I can say look at this awesome deal.

The free dining deadline is coming up soon, so I was hoping they would realease more codes after that. I'm sure they will. It is always a slow time. I don't think free dining will have a huge impact. I'm surprised at how many people know nothing about it. Let's keep hoping and checking for those codes!
