After August 5th Code Watch

No one knows if AP codes will be released and if they are, what dates they will include. Disney has a lot of us trying to guess their next move. Personally, with the last AP rate release, I think they are being much more careful what and when they release. If anything comes out for after August 5, I think they will wait till mid June (but I will still be checking regularly) or maybe after the expiration of the free dining promo on June 4. We'll just have to wait....and wait......and

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. They are probably trying to get all the bookings they can under the free dining promo. If they need to fill rooms once that deal is expired, then they will release AP rates. Kind of bites for people going between 8/5 and 8/12. No free dining for them anyway.

Right, and the free dining doesn't do a lot of good for us...We are not big eaters and will do better moneywise if we use our AAA discount for the room and DDE card for 20% off food. I'll keep hoping...

I am not sure what to expect this time...

Every year AP codes have been released in early May for check ins just after July 4th through Labor Day. The codes are also for most properties, not a selected few.

I wonder why they only offered through August 5th this time? (So far...We will get a code.......Say it with me! We will get a code!)

Because they are booking them at rack rate and therefore they only released what they need to, to fill some vacant dates at certain resorts.

I spoke to CM Catalina, and she guesses that we will not see a code this week. She said this Sunday is the last day to book the dining package, and she would think that the situation will be evaluated after that.

She did say there is plenty of availibility for August.

Mine, too and my toes... I've been checking August rates for the weeks of 8/6 to 8/16 and 8/17 to 8/27 for a while now and there is a LOT of availability for both those weeks. The only limited resort rooms for 8/6 to 8/16 are ASMov with only preferred left and for 8/17 to 8/27, ASMov only preferred and WL only courtyard and up...Maybe we still have hope. I know I've said this in posts before, but last year during the free dining AP rates were offered. Let's keep thinking good thoughts!!!
