After 7 Trips We're Finally Staying At the BC! May 2012 PTR: New TR Started!

Y'all, I have a heavy heart tonight. This morning I got a call that a lady that I'm in choir with and her husband died in a car crash last night. Just the sweetest couple. Always smiling and hugging and loving on others. Our whole choir is in complete shock. Choir rehearsal was pretty tough tonight. We're waiting to hear about arrangements cause I'm pretty sure the choir and orchestra will be singing/playing at the service.

I also last night found out that a friend of mine has breast cancer and will have surgery and begin radiation in the next couple of weeks. She has a daughter in elementary school and a son in college.

If you could, please say a prayer for these two families. They could really use them.

Oh, Alicia, I'm so sorry! We will be praying for both families!!

Day 6 – May 29th - Shunshine Sheasons and Winnie the Pooh

As I type this I am realizing that we are leaving for Disney in 7 days!

7 DAYS!!!!!

So I have got to get this PTR done. So here’s our plans for day 6:

We’ll have breakfast in our room (our usual doughnuts/cereal/pastries) and then we’ll head to our morning park – Epcot. We’ll get there at opening and ride Sourin and normally we’d ride Test Track but not this trip. Maybe we’ll head to the Land or ride Nemo. We’ll have to head onto Spaceship Earth and make some funny faces.

For lunch we’ll head to Sunshine Seasons.
IMG_4025w.jpg

Now, y’all know me. I can’t/won’t say things the way that most people do. One day, before our last trip, I was talking with Mike about Sunshine Seasons and it came out Shunshine Sheasons. From that moment on I have called it that. So we’ll have a yummy lunch at Shunshine Sheasons and then head into World Showcase. Mike really wants to watch some of the movies in the countries so maybe we’ll do that. When we’ve had our fill of Epcot, we’ll head back to the BC and swim/relax.

After our break we’ll head to MK. We have an ADR for Crystal Palace. Mike and I went here on our anniversary trip but the kids have never been. I can’t wait to see what they do.

After dinner we’ll ride some rides (I’m guessing Pirates, Buzz, Haunted Mansion, anything that doesn’t have a huge line). We aren’t planning on watching Wishes this trip since it is going to be so late at night when the fireworks start so we’ll be heading back to the resort before the crowds start gathering for it.

Day 7 – May 30th - McSteamy and Zebra Domes

We’ll be heading back to the Studios this morning. I have to get at least one more ride on ToT. I keep reading about and seeing pictures of Staring Rolls and I am going to have to go there. We’ve never been in it. Sad, I know. So we’ll have to fix that this trip. I don’t know if we’ll try to ride Toy Story or if we’ll let Mike off the hook from speed walking to get fastpasses.

For lunch we’ll be stopping at one of my favorite lunch places: ABC Commissary. I have heard many people say many bad things about this place. I just think it’s great! Mom and Mike aren’t huge fans of it but they put up with it so I can be happy. A couple of trips ago we decided to give this place a try and back then the dishes were named after TV shows and characters from ABC. I LOVE curry! So I had to have the Curry Chicken which at that time was named McSteamy Curry Chicken.
DSCN1060.jpg

I liked it! And even though it’s called just plain Curry Chicken now, I still tell Mike and Mom “I gotta have my McSteamy Curry Chicken.” I also love the fact that at the end of the building they have had a picture of Castle on our last couple of trips. I have a slight obsession with the show and I about died when I watched the season finale.

IMG_5491.jpg

Anyway, we’ll again head back to the resort sometime after lunch (and after I stop gawking at the Castle poster) for some swimming and relaxation. Once we have had our fill we’ll head to AKL for our ADR at Boma. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! We took a break from Boma on our last trip so I’m happy that we’re going back. They have a soup there that is some kind of squash and I think carrot…I honestly can’t remember what it was but it was slightly sweet and it was delish! This is also the place that I discovered the upside down pineapple cheesecake. I could have eaten 20 of those things! Yum! Yum! Yum!

We really have no plans after dinner. We’ll probably hang around AKL for a little while and them maybe head back to the resort for an evening swim. Mike keeps saying he thinks we’ll end up going into Epcot but I think it would be nice to have an evening off. We’ll see who wins that difference of opinion…

Day 8 – May 31st -Can I please have some sauerkraut?

It’s a MK morning for us. Breakfast in the room again and make it to the park for opening. I hope the mics work for the opening show this trip. They had issues every time we went last trip. Maybe this will be the morning that Mike waits with Lauren to meet Rapunzel. She is going to flip when she meets her. She was so precious when she met Tiana last trip. Just look at this face:
Image0014.jpg

Image0025.jpg

At some point we’ll get hungry and we’re supposed to go to Pinocchio Village Haus for lunch. We’ve never been here. I’m hoping it will be good, I’ve heard varying things about it. As you can tell from other days, we just kind of go with the flow when it comes to rides. We make a list of what we want to ride and fit it in when the lines aren’t too bad. So after lunch, we’ll just start walking and see what looks good. Eventually we’ll head back to the resort and, can you guess what we’ll do? If you said swim then you get a gold star!

We’ll be heading to Epcot, again, (can you tell we like Epcot) for dinner. And here we come to the only restaurant we have eaten at every single time we have been to Disney. We even went there 2 times in one trip. Biergarten. I am a big sauerkraut fan and no one else in this family will go near it. So I literally eat about 2 plates full of this stuff to tied me over till the next trip to Disney. I did have one trip where I was not able to partake in my yummy food even though I was at the restaurant. And every trip since that experience, I get a little anxious about whether or not I’m going to eat it. Lauren got a stomach bug one trip and got sick at the beginning of dinner. Sick multiple times. I had literally just sat down with my plate of sauerkraut and sausage. So I took her back to our room while everyone else ate their dinner. Thank goodness Lauren was better the next day but I really did miss my sauerkraut.

I suppose after dinner we’ll have to head to Spaceship Earth and take some more funny pictures and listen to the crazy lady laugh. I must be easily entertained…

Day 9 – June 1st - Can we move to Disney?

Last day. I’m sad just thinking about it. It’s the day we all dread. Who wants to think about this day? It’s such a bummer! I always ask Mike (like I’m sure many of you do) “Can’t we just move down here? I could get a job at ToT or on Pirates and do my cool pirate accent and you could get a job as an engineer for Disney…It could work! Please!? Please!!?? PUH-LEASE!!!!??????” It hasn’t worked yet, but maybe it will this trip…

Whenever I watch the video on the last day of any trip, I hear me saying “There’s no smiling in Disney World!!! Not on the last day!! Everyone put on your sad faces!” It works for a second and then everyone gets a big smile on their face and has a good time. Then I have to remind them:

“This is your last time on Pirates! Don’t be happy. be sad!”

“This is your last Dole Whip! Don’t be happy, be sad!”

“This is your last lunch at Disney World! Don’t be happy, be sad!”

Of course I’m kidding about not being happy. It’s Disney World! You’re supposed to be happy! But I try to pout like a little baby in hopes that Mike will just give in and at the very least say “If I say we can come back next year, will that make you happy?” It’s actually worked in the past.
IMG_4608w.jpg

IMG_4609w.jpg

But Mike and I have a secret this year. We are going there this year already knowing that unless something happens, we will be returning next year!! So I don’t have to pout this year. Instead, when the kids are all sad that this is our last day we’ll be able to say:

“It does kind of stink that this is our last day, doesn’t it? We’re sad too. Wouldn’t it be great if we could come back next year? Well guess what? We are!” And everyone will cheer and we’ll be able to go to MK and have a great time!

We will definitely have to ride Pirates, Buzz and Haunted Mansion this morning. It’s our last chance and Alex and Lauren would be pretty upset if they don’t ride them one last time. We have plans to eat lunch at Columbia Harbor House. Maybe this will be the day we’ll head to the Hall of Presidents. Alex has to do a presentation tomorrow on Andrew Jackson and we told him we’d go see this so he can see Andrew Jackson.

We plan on staying in MK until a little before dinner and then we’ll head to DTD. We’re going to try Wolfgang Puck Express for dinner. The menu looks good and all the pictures we’ve seen of the food look great! If we feel like it we’ll hit some shops and then, then we’ll head off into the sunset and say goodbye to our good friend WDW. We’ll wave goodbye and say “See you real soon!” We’ll drive to Wildwood, FL for our overnight stay. Too bad it’s not Oakahlah. Hmm…what can I make up for Wildwood? Willywood? Dollywood? WallyWorld?!!! Yup! That’s it! We’ll be staying in Wally World, FL!! I need help y’all!

Day 10 – June 2nd - Home to start planning our next trip

After waking up we’ll pile into the van and head back into the never ending state of Georgia. Who knows how many times we’ll here “Are we home yet?” Maybe I’ll keep track and report back to y’all in my TR. This trip home shouldn’t be so bad though since we already know that we’re going back in a year. After we get home I’ll hug on my cats and we’ll start unpacking the van (we’ll, really Mike will start unpacking the van and I’ll start putting stuff away). And eventually, we’ll sit down and start planning our return to our happy place.

Read through all your updates! All your plans sound wonderful! I'm glad to hear that you like ABC Commissory, Sam wants to eat here on our trip and I was kinda nervous reading all the not so great reviews. Yay for riding ToT as much as possible!!! Looks like we will both be in Epcot in the morning of your Day 6. I will have to keep an eye out for you. I'm sure we'll be doing all the same Future World rides also in the morning!

I thought we were the only ones who called it Shunshine Sheasons! I have always gotten tongue-tied trying to say it and we just changed the name. It makes it's lot easier on me.

We ate at ABC Commisary about 5 years ago and we were not fans.

We are skipping Boma this trip, but we are going there for both breakfast and dinner on our November trip. Yay!

I think we have eaten at Biergarten every trip, as well. Two years ago, my then 13-month old was extremely cranky during dinner and I was almost at my breaking point when, all of a sudden, Edelweiss came on and she stopped in mid tantrum and just sat. Since that is one of my absolute favorite songs, I got all teary and just cuddled her. She still stops whatever sh is doing when she hears that song. It's magic! Lol

If you could, please say a prayer for these two families. They could really use them.
So sorry I didn't see this before, praying now.

Day 6 – May 29th - Shunshine Sheasons and Winnie the Pooh

Epcot.

We'll be in Future World of EPCOT that day too :) And lunching in Shunshine Sheasons as well ;) Dinner will be across the way at the Garden Grill :) So I'll keep listen for you on Spaceship Earth:rotfl2:

Day 7 – May 30th - McSteamy and Zebra Domes

For lunch we’ll be stopping at one of my favorite lunch places: ABC Commissary.

I also love the fact that at the end of the building they have had a picture of Castle on our last couple of trips.
ADR at Boma. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!

I've never eaten at the Commissary, was really close one time, but nothing sounded good. . .I think we went back to the resort and ate (it may have been Capn Cooks :) )
Boma is delicious!!! But we won't be eating there this time. . .I think it may be just be my parents and I that enjoy eating there.:confused3

Day 8 – May 31st -Can I please have some sauerkraut?
Maybe this will be the morning that Mike waits with Lauren to meet Rapunzel. She is going to flip when she meets her. She was so precious when she met Tiana last trip.

She looks so precious with Tiana! I can't wait for my nieces, especially the new 4 yo to meet princesses princess:
I miss the the old fries at Pinocchio's :sad2: Whoo hoo and I get a gold star:cheer2: go me ;)
We've made ADRs in the past and then cxld them at Biergarten. And most of us are 1/4 or more German :rotfl2: That darn Le Cellier and their good food ;) Maybe next time! We LOVE Epcot too!!!!

Day 9 – June 1st - Can we move to Disney?

Last day. I’m sad just thinking about it. It’s the day we all dread. Who wants to think about this day? It’s such a bummer! I always ask Mike (like I’m sure many of you do) “Can’t we just move down here?

We’ll be staying in Wally World, FL!! I need help y’all!
Ugh, it is hard, especially just looking at it on the itinerary and going "Noooo!!!" I just always wish to win the lottery and go to WDW for life, whenever (and I guess where ever ;) )
It would so help knowing when you are returning, instead of just dreaming for the next return!
Just make sure Wally World is open before you go ;)

Day 10 – June 2nd - Home to start planning our next trip

After waking up we’ll pile into the van and head back into the never ending state of Georgia. I know I'll be happy to pick up doggie the next morning and to look over all the pics and souvies and dream about next time. . .enjoy planning when you get back:goodvibes

We've been planning to retire to Disney for years! ;)

We're so close....to our trips--not to retirement!

Just caught up!

I think knowing you have another trip planned makes last days so much easier. Anytime those "last ride blues" get to you, you can just remind yourself that it won't be long before you're boarding the attraction once more.:thumbsup2

I've heard nothing but great things about the Rapunzel Meet and Greets, so I'm sure if you take Lauren to it, she'll have a blast. ::yes::

Ahhh, another person who takes photos of all the Castle posters!!! I get such a kick out the billboard for the show right above The Writer's Shop. :rotfl2: And yes, that season finale.....:cheer2:

And I never knew the ABC Commissary menu items used to have names based off of tv shows. I would've loved just looking at the menu and telling the CM, "I'll order a McSteamy.":lmao:

“Lets do the must do’s”

Our strategy for the parks is to make a list of “must do” rides, “like to do” rides, and “if time” rides. Then we check out the lines when we’re in a particular park and determine if it’s ride-able on that particular day. Seems to be a common plan of attack with other Disney goers. So without further ado, let’s do the must do’s (and like to do’s and if time to do’s):

Read through all your updates! All your plans sound wonderful! I like ABC, no oneelse in the family does though. So we just go because I like it so much. I try to tell Mike it's okay if we don't go to it but he insists every trip that we go. I just like it beacuse it's the only place I can get curry. Hopefully y'all will like it. I'll be looking for you in Epcot!

I thought we were the only ones who called it Shunshine Sheasons! I have always gotten tongue-tied trying to say it and we just changed the name. It makes it's lot easier on me.

We ate at ABC Commisary about 5 years ago and we were not fans.

Glad to know we're not the only ones calling it Shunshine Sheasons! I'm a big curry fan so that's why we go to ABC. Glad you're going to Boma in November! The music is one reason we went there on our first trips. It was one restaurant that the kids both seemed to enjoy when they were babies. About the time they would start to fuss, the band would start playing. :thumbsup2

So sorry I didn't see this before, praying now.

Thank you! Their Services are at 5:00 today. THe choir and orchestra are participating. I've already broken down this morning so I am sure to be a mess later. Still can't believe she's gone.

We'll be in Future World of EPCOT that day too :) And lunching in Shunshine Sheasons as well ;) Dinner will be across the way at the Garden Grill :) So I'll keep listen for you on Spaceship Earth:rotfl2:

Yay! Maybe we'll see each other at lunch. Well, you'll know that if your riding SE and you hear a woman laughing loudly (I'm one of those loud laughers) it's bound to be me.

I think part of the draw for me for ABC is that sometimes I see Castle stuff on the tvs. I have a serious addiction to Castle. I won't tell you how many times I've watched the finale. It's well over 10 times...

We've been planning to retire to Disney for years! ;)

We're so close....to our trips--not to retirement!

I tell Mike all the time that we will retire to Disney and I'm going to be one of those funny bus drivers and make people sing "The Wheels on the Bus" and so all sorts of funny things.

Just caught up!
I've heard nothing but great things about the Rapunzel Meet and Greets, so I'm sure if you take Lauren to it, she'll have a blast. ::yes::

Yay! Good to hear!

Ahhh, another person who takes photos of all the Castle posters!!! I get such a kick out the billboard for the show right above The Writer's Shop. :rotfl2: And yes, that season finale.....:cheer2:

we've watched the show since the pilot. I'm kind of embarrassed at how much I love this show. I've never been one to get so attached to a show but this one is so good! I had to watch the end of the finale multiple times to get through the shock of them getting together. I'll be on the lookout for a new poster this time! :thumbsup2

And I never knew the ABC Commissary menu items used to have names based off of tv shows. I would've loved just looking at the menu and telling the CM, "I'll order a McSteamy.":lmao:

They also had an Ugly Bettie Cheeseburger. I can't remember any of the other names though. The curry was pretty steamy though. :lmao:

Yes I never ate there but found it to be a cool menu:

And I swear every time we were down there we saw this billboard and so I finally snapped a shot of it:

If we were going to DHS this trip I'd have snapped a Castle shot ;)

Hope their service was beautiful :littleangel:

I'm hoping that the Castle billboard will be of season 4. That way, I can add to my collection of Castle photos. The service was nice. It was hard to get through it but it was nice.

This morning I'm waiting for our neighbor to come pick up our doggie. He owns a Doggie inn where Daisy is going to be pampered and loved on while we're gone. They even have a swimming pool! You'd think I'd be excited for her to go, but I'm a sad doggie mama. I keep trying to remind myself that she will get to play with other doggies and she's at a place where she'll know someone. Plus, you can watch them online during the day when they have doggie daycare, play in the pool, or sleep in their room. Hold on! There's a knock at the door...

I'm back! She is so silly. She just sat in the back of his SUV smiling. :lmao: I guess if she's okay with it, I should be too! :thumbsup2

Today is run around town like a crazy person day. Our dryer started making a horrible noise a couple days ago so I'm having to go over to Mom's to do the last bit of laundry. The van tag will expire while we're on our way home from Disney so I need to renew that before we go. I need to go to the store and buy the last of our trip supplies. I'd also like to go to the Disney Store and get one more shirt for me. And I have to pick up Lauren from school this afternoon. I'm a stay at home mom who hardly stays at home! Guess I better get moving! I'll post our last two Disney nights later today. Hope y'all have a great day!

Awww, the dreaded doggie hotel! We used to hate dropping the dogs off at the vet to board, but then we found a great doggie hotel that has a big yard with lots of shade and they love it! When we used to pick them up, they would sleep for hours because they had been so stressed at the vet, but now, they get so excited to go see their friends at the hotel.

Your week sounds like my week! We had to get our tags since they expire while we are on vacation and then the tire on my car (the one we take to WDW) kept losing pressure and DH thought that he saw a hole on the side of it, so we took it in to be replaced. Turns out, it wasn't a hole in the side, but a nail in it, so they just repaired it instead of replacing. Whew! That was a good $400 that can stay in the ol' vacation budget.

We have our one and only Disney dinner tonight, so that means it's almost time to go!!! I can't wait!

Good luck with all your errands!
