Aer Lingus - any good?

Can I ask what the return is like, we've got a miles booking outbound on Virgin and just looking for cheapest return we can find which is Aer Lingus but all flights seem to have a pretty hefty stop in Dublin meaning you don't get home until the afternoon (although you do get a long last day which is good as we're finishing on a cruise). How is the stop in Dublin on the way home? Does it fly by pardon the pun?

To be honest we use the time to have a nap. If you have a good couple of hours the aer lingus lounge is really nice and has showers and a really comfortable sofa up stairs.

We've done BHX-DUB-MCO a few times now. To be honest, we do find the return a bit of a pain, having to spend 5-6 hours in Dublin waiting for the flight to BHX which takes less than an hour, and not getting home until late afternoon rather than late morning.

But the Dublin lounge is good and does help. Some times of the year the DUB-MAN flight times are better than BHX, with a late morning flight rather than having to wait until 1400ish. We've said that next time we fly Aer Lingus we'll check times from MAN and BHX and go from whichever offers the best timings.
