advice please

We are looking at going in march 2008, arriving in miami (cheaper flights) and driving up to orlando the next day. We also want to stay a few days in miami at the end of the holiday. Can anyone give us some advice on some decent hotels in the miami area (we are a family of 5 and mum will be with us, who is 59 going on 18 he he).

Also, how busy/kind of weather, is it around this time of year as we normally go around october time.

Hi,

It's many years since I have stayed in Miami so cannot really recommend anywhere, however we too are going in March next year and did initially look at the Miami Beach area for a few days.
It's a very expensive place to stay and we struggled to find something that suited us.
Maybe try www.tripadvisor.com which have ratings and reviews etc

I do know about the weather in March as we went then in 2005, summed up very easily - unpredictable.
Certain to get some nice sunny weather but also possible to get cooler days too, especially in the morning's and evening's.
It struggled to reach mid 70s last time when we were there, but it's also possible to have temps. in the 80s - so you just cannot predict with accuracy.

thanks for the info. Has anyone stayed at any hotels near miami airport, just as a stopover before we drive to orlando the next day?

I recommend hotelanywhere.co.uk or hotelanywhere.com (cant remember which it is) for US hotels. I did not stay in Miami overnight but did fly up on the same day arrival - have you looked into that to see if you can get cheap flights up to Orlando - only a thought
