Advice on using AAA vs. WDW Travel

I booked through AAA and ended up saving just under $500. If you have already booked and a new promotion comes up, you can call AAA and they can adjust it. (At least my agent did.) We have booked a 6 night, park hopper with water parks and dining plan for 2 adults and 2 kids under 9 in January 2007. I was very happy with AAA. Also, we had booked POR and found out last week that the food court there will be closed from Jan 2 until March 2007, so if this is an inconvenience to you, you may want to change resorts. We changed to CBR.

You are only allowed 1 discount on your reservation. We had the AAA discount when we went but when they offered the free dining for length of stay back in October we dropped the AAA discount $100 total and picked up the free dining - well over $1000 in savings. Compare the 2 and book whichever is better for you. I ended up not liking the lack of control I had booking through AAA but that is me.

That is odd, becuase with Disney you are supposed to get a two week period to put down the depost. The same goes for travel agents. They are not required to give Disney a deposit either until the two week period. I would call back and book through another Disney person if theyare trying to get you to put down your deposit money immediately. You have a two week grace period where they will hold any reservation for you.

The exception to the "two week deposit rule" is with the Disney VISA promos. Before the code is available to the general public, they require an immediate deposit with the Disney Visa.

This is true... With AAA you have 2 weeks to secure your reservation with a $200 deposit. I know this is also true if you book online via WDW Travel. Personally, I love going through AAA. Our agent is exceptional. I have heard some nightmares about AAA agents, but I made sure our agent was well versed in WDW before using her. It is true that alot of the time you know more than the agent, especially when it comes to new offers. I found out about the free dining before our agent did and she called adjusted our ressie with WDW Travel for us. No problem.

I agree. I was just looking into hotels for the night before our flight south. The AAA rate through their website was more than the AAA rate I got when I booked through the hotel directly. Shop around and compare.
