Hi - Due to make our ADRs next week as now within the 180 days - yeah!

Two questions - Does it sound reasonable to go for lunch at Kona (at the Poly?) whilst having a day at MK?

And, we are fancying a meal at Sanaa at AKL, we've been told we will be able to see the animals whilst we eat. Is this correct and if so do we have to request a table with a view and would lunch be better than an evening meal?

That was probably more than two questions - sorry.

Thanks in advnce.

Chris

Lunch at Kona is absolutely, definitely, a perfect thing to do on a MK day. :)

Exactly what we did, and it was so laid back and peaceful in there, and the food is wonderful, and unlimited drinks.

Exactly what you need to relax after a busy morning and prepare for a busy afternoon. :)

We had both lunch and dinner at Sanaa this past February. The food is very good; even our normally picky eaters tried new food, and discovered their love fr tandoori. The evening hours of our stay meant it was dark for dinner. At lunch we saw lots of animals we had not seen on other savannah, especially two large crane-like birds who stand at the window looking in. I should mention that one cool experience at AKL is the night vision goggles that are shared at viewing stations around the Resort.

We have eaten at both for evening meals(we only do counter service at lunch) both excellent places to eat, although we did get a bad server at Kona last year I would go back again, the food is very good.

Pics from Sanaa, you can see in the 1st pic tables with a view of the animals.

Oh blimey those photos have made me hungry popcorn::

I'm looking forward to trying Sanaa for the first time for lunch on our AK day in May

You can't go far wrong with Kona for food, it's great :cloud9:

However, I must admit I have never had particularly good service at Kona

I think Wayne has most of the pictures covered already :rotfl2:

But just wanted to throw up a couple more of Sanaa as it shows the seating area a bit more. You don't have to have a direct window seat to see the critters (though obviously it's best!), we were about 3 tables 'back' and while we couldn't see small stuff like the birds coming right up to the window without standing up, you still got to see giraffes wandering by which was pretty cool :)

Though note I did stand up to take the actual pictures because I didn't want the heads of the table directly next in front of us in my pic bad enough having the guys in front of the window in them hehe!

Edit: Oh, and forgot to say, both those restaurants are great and I actually have ressies for both again on our upcoming trip :) As mentioned though, Kona service can be a little hit and miss sometimes for some reason.

Loved the pictures, so happy we have Kidani as our home DVC resort. Had one of our best meals of the holiday at Jiko last November. Lunch at Sanaa next time!
