Advice on Hotel and Room type

Hi there. First time posting!

Here's my Disney vacation story in a nutshell:

I'm from Mexico. My sister and I are travelling to Disneyland for the first time since we were kids, about 18 years. We are also taking our three 6yo nephews for their first Disney trip ever! They are triplets and their parents are just exhausted! So we are going to take them off their hands and it will just be the 5 of us travelling.

We need some advice on which hotel to choose (Disneyland Hotel or the Disney Californian Resort). And also what type of room to get. Standard or Suite.

We definitely need two beds, one for me and one for my sister. But do Standard rooms (in either hotel) come with the option of two beds? The Hotel web site says that standard rooms fit up to 5 people. Does that mean 2 adults and 3 children? Are the beds big enough, or do they have roll away beds or other sleeping arrangements?

Maybe a suite would be better?

I understand the price differences and some of the pros and cons between the DLH and the DGC resort. My biggest concern is about room size and sleeping arrangements. I'm weighing the advantages of a suite in the DLH and a standard room in the DGC since they're around the same price. Will I get more room for my buck or is a Standard room in the DGC big enough for the 5 of us.

Any ideas or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Javier

Welcome to the boards, there are stickies at the top of where you posted that have a wealth of info. There are 3 DLR resort hotels: The Grand Californian, The Disneyland Hotel and the Paradise Pier. you can log on to Disney's web site pick a room and see what they will run you, the hotel suites are $$$$$ but if you got the buckd they are a bit biger than you get with standard rooms.
Wish I could help you more, others will chime in.

Have fun,

Jack

You're definitely going to get more space for your money at the Disneyland Hotel. We've stayed at both and a standard room at the CG is going to be tight. Plus... the Disney theming (character stuff everywhere, bed headboards that light up, etc) at DLH is so perfect for kids that age!

Most standard rooms have 2 queen beds. With 5 of you, you have a good chance of getting 2 queens plus a day bed (twin size bed/couch).
