Advice on booking/ rebooking

I'm kinda confused. Okay.... really confused. I've been reading through posts over the last few days and I'm still not sure what to do.

We want to go to WDW towards the end of Sept 08 and early Oct 08. Our dates are somewhat flexible.

2 adults 2 children (9,4)

Our older son is physically disabled and uses a wheelchair. Because of this we want to stay at All Star Sports in a preferred room. (correct me if I'm wrong... but this seems like a smaller resort with easier access to everything) We were planning on getting the dining plan as we felt it was very easy to follow in the past.

I want to book soon.... and I want to make the ADRs 180 days out.

Here's my dilema.

If I book now and a code comes out later...... will I be able to apply it to an existing reservation or will I have to rebook?? Will this also apply if free dining is offered? Would I be able to add that to an existing reservation or am I out of luck?

I'm afraid if I have to rebook I won't get the resort we have decided on. We've stayed at ASM in the past and while it was nice..... it was a long walk for my son when he decided to use his walker to get to the pool.

I would appreciate your feedback and advice.

Each all star resort is about the same size. Going Preferred will DEF get you closer to the main pool at each resort. If you like the theme of sports, go for it! The others are nice too.

As for rebooking vs. applying, every time I have done it it's been very easy. I have an existing ressie, call when the code comes out and ask if it can be applied. THey check to see availability and then apply the code! very simple.
hope you have a nice trip.

I agree...book the resort you want now. If something better comes along later you can have it applied to your ressie or cancel the exsisting and re-book a new one. If this is what you intend to do only book a room do not book a package. The room only ressies are much more flexible in terms of cancelling.

If the size of the resort is an issue than I would recommend staying at POFQ it is the smallest resort. No eye candy for the kids though.

If you can afford to upgrade to a Moderate, I would also suggest Port Orleans French Quarter, and ask for Building 5. It is right next to the food court, the pool, and the bus stop. The entire resort is quiet, and quaint. Its the smallest resort on Disney property with all the perks! And yes you definately can apply codes after you book. Good luck!
