Advice on booking last minute same day hotel?

We are visiting family in Florida and have decided to go to MK for the day. We are only an hour and 30 min drive away, but we have Chef Mickey reservations at 7:40am. Hubby thinks maybe we should stay the night tonight instead of having to get up so early tomorrow to drive over. So, where's the best/cheapest place to search for a room off resort property? Any tips/tricks on savings? TIA

I would use Hotwire and look in the Downtown Disney, Bonnet Creek & Maingate West areas for hotels with recommendations of 80% or higher.
