advice needed!

Please move if not in right spot.I just need help from all of the wonderful folks here. We have a 10 night package booked for Jan 26- feb 5 with base tickets(2 adults and 2 kids). My husband metioned getting AP so we could go more maybe thanksgiving and Jan 2008. I was all for it but I am having a hard time justifiing the extra cost. I know that they have AP rates on occasion and we could get DD for extra saving on food, but I am still not sure if it the best for us right know our trip is $1800 for 10 nights at POP and 10 day base ticket we plan on upgrading to hopper but waiting for codes. The AP alone are 1798.08 (2 adults 2 kids)which still leaves food and room . We had planned on upgrading to Dining plan before we left or just budgeting about $1000 for food for week but still left with close to $700 to $1000 for room. I know that we save alot in the long run on tickets for upcoming trips but still if unsure if worth it. Can some one please help me decide with there pros and cons. Have you been faced with this and what did you decide and why???? thanks in advance for any info!!!!!

If you really plan on the ten day trip then another
the AP is well worth it in the end because your second trip
will be that much cheaper. figure out how much you are going to
pay for the 10 day ticket, then suptract tht from the cost of AP
the diff will be what you pay for the tickets to the park on the
second trip. You are going to pay for tickets anyway, and your
actual cost for the AP will be simply the diff. Plus you also have
the opportunity to book room only, for the end trip and possibly
a discount on tht. Especially if you make two 10 day trips
We always buy the AP, book room only and we have saved
because we make at lest two trips a year sometimes for 20 days.
if it were me I would cancel the package and book room only
buy the APs, if I were going twice extended stay like you are

keep in mind your only cost for the 2nd and posssibly 3rd trip will
be for only the room you will have the tickets and your transportation
of course this all depends on whether you can cancel the package
without losing your money

Thank you so much! Yes we can cancel, but I am afraid the codes for AP will not show up! I had a room only last Thanksgiving for 55.00 at all star so I know they come out every once in a while. We are just having a hard time with the added exspense this time around. We can afford it but just a big chunk of change. Thank you again for your response. I quess we will wait a couple more days to see what the jan/ feb codes may bring!!!!!

Now if you have AAA book the rooms with that, it will get you a good price
in Jan if a code comes out call back and see if they can apply the AP
code. If not you will still have a good room only raste with the AAA
booking. We usually book AAA through dreams Unlimited Room Only
and have debi as our TA. No guarantee but DU tries to get you the AP
if it is cheaper then the AAA. We use them all the time.
