I'm planning our family's first DW trip next Jan. I have rented DVC points for all 7 of us (DH, DD, DS, MIL, FIL, DM and myself). But while planning DH and I have decided we'd like to stay an extra two nights with just us and DD and DS.

So it looks like we'll be moving from a 2 br villa to a standard moderate room. No ressies yet, but probably soon.

My question is, has anyone done this? I'm afraid we'll have too much stuff for a moderate room. Is there anything else I should plan for? Is this even the right forum for this?

Thanks,
Heather

We have rented points before and we allways stay at another (usually value) before we go to DVC. You will be OK and the kids will love the change of resort and most of all you will love just being there without the rest of your family. I assume you are flying to wdw! Disney will transfer your luggage for you to your moderate resort.Just like flying make sure you take must haves ( bathing suits, personal things) with you. Another option I have done is just one adult has gotten a taxi and taken all luggage to new resort and checked in and stored luggage. You will know for sure it is there and ready for you when you return. Then just catch up with others at the park of the day.
Yes, the 2 bed are very spacious so just remember that you will be downgrading. The mods are bigger than you think though, so just plan. There are lots of tips here for getting max. space out of any room. If flying you will be limited with what you will have to begin with. Could you send some stuff home with other family members that leave before you. Pack up the bulk of what you have allready used and just put under bed out of the way.

Thanks. I think we'll be Ok. I just need to have something to worry about. We won't have a stroller or anything big and don't need to pack that much clothes since we have that washer and dryer in the villa...
