advice for potential owner

My wife and I are thinking about buying into the DVC program. Before we do we decided to test the waters by going to BLT with our 3 kids (6, 3, 1) from Dec 13-17. To really give it a whirl, we are going to try to prepare more of our meals in the rooms. Anyone have any tips or links to things that we should keep in mind - either for food or other things?

Based on how it goes will help largely determine what we do. We are leaning towards buying a resale for the lower upfront cost.

Are you going to have your own car to go food shopping? If not try going to gardengrocer.com. They will deliver food to your resort and if you are not there they will leave it at bell services. Bell services will bring your items up once you arrive and even your frozen foods will be fine.

Also remember if you are buying a resale, you might lose some years of ownership.

Beach Club/ Wilderness/Boardwalk/OKW expire 2042
Saratoga expires 2054
Animal Kingdom 2057
Bay Lake Tower 2060

You will find some OKW contracts that were renewed and I believe expire on 2057.
