We're planning our first Xmas-time trip this year, and I'm trying to decide what to do on New Year's Eve. We'll have Me, DW, DD8 and my parents. We know we want to be in a park for Midnight, but which is the best choice? I am leaning towards MGM, on the theory that it will be the less-crowded choice (although I know that's purely a relative thing for that night.) Anyone with experience have advice?

Thanks!

RUN! DON'T GO! :scared:

Just kidding. We have gone the past 5 years. And are going again this year.

We always go to MGM primarily because it seems to be geared more toward the teenage crowd with the music and it seems the crowd is teenage. The bus system is awsome, they have it down to a science, but we sometimes hung around and rode a few rides afterward

The past 2 years we left the 4 teens at the park and my husband and I went back to the Pop before midnight, got a snack sat by the lake and watched 3 sets of fireworks from the parks. A lot better for us old folks.

A warning MK seems to fill and close early afternoon to all.

See ya there! :wave2:

Thanks for sharing- can you tell me if they do anything special other than the fireworks?

Magic Kingdom does usually fill up - sometimes before lunch. So if you want to be there at midnight, you have to get there in the morning and stay there all day.

I don't know what the other parks do special...other than they all have special fireworks. But at EPCOT they gave away party hats and noise makers and had a lot of extra musical acts playing.
