I want everyone's opinion. Am planning a trip this October 13-18. 3 adults (my sister, her boyfriend and me) and 2 kids (my neice who is 12 and nephew who is 10).

We are debating btn getting 1 standard room at Contemporary and 1 at PO Riverside. They say each room can hold 5 people. So my first question is: Is that really true? Will we be like sardines in either?

2nd debate: 1 room at Contemporary v. 2 rooms at PO Riverside.

It costs $507 overall more to stay at Contemporary than PO Riverside when you compare one room to one room.

If we got 2 rooms at POR, then that would cost about $280 more than just the one room at Contemporary.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

My advice is 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, and more privacy.

My vote is for the 2 rooms, 4 beds & 2 bathrooms. Everyone will be more comfortable. :wizard:

Does the cost at the Contemporary include the $25 per night extra charge for the 3rd adult?

Anyway, I would recommend 2 rooms at POR vs 1 at POR. Yes, POR does sleep 5 people. We did this last year but we had much "smaller" people than you will have. It was me, DH and kids-4, 8 and 11. It was fine but definitely not roomy. The 5th bed is a trundle bed that pulls out from under one of the standard size beds. The bathrooms are very small. I think you will find it worth it to spend the money on 2 rooms vs 1 at POR.

As far as 1 room at the Contemporary vs 2 at POR, I really think you could go either way with this one. The Contemporary rooms are the biggest deluxe rooms. You are also getting 2 queen size beds and a daybed so it's going to be more comfortable than 1 room at POR.

So, do you want 2 bathrooms would be a big part of the question? How important is location?

You could also consider a 1 or 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West or any of the other Disney Vacation Club resorts. They do book them just like regular rooms. You would have more room plus a washer/dryer, full kitchen with all appliances and utensils, etc. The cost may be comparable or only slightly higher to 2 rooms at POR especially if you can get a AAA discount. The room, convenience and privacy could be priceless. Just a thought. :)

We recently returned from AKL, I had originally reserved 2 rooms. It was me, DH, DS - 21. DD - 16 and DD's boyfriend - 16. We were going to put DS & DD's boyfriend in 1 room, the rest of us in the other. At the last minute I decided to cancel the 2nd room and was glad I did. We really did not spend that much time in the room, and it never really seemed that crowded. I always showered at night which helped a lot. We had bunk beds, but if you don't mind sleeping with you niece, and your sister and her BF don't want privacy I think 1 room at Contemporary will be fine. The rooms at POR a a lot smaller, so that would be crowded.

Go for the two rooms. We are a party of 5....3A 2C....did the one room thing once and said never again. The two rooms make a HUGE difference. Be comfortable. You are on vacation. Have a great time!!

I vote 1 room at CR. The rooms are huge and the daybed, where your son will probably sleep, is just like a twin bed. You have a great location at CR and are able to walk to MK. There's also a fun arcade and the monorail. You might even be able to get one of the renovated rooms.

I would not even consider getting just one room for that many people. I really enjoy my space/privacy. POR is a lovely resort. You can request connecting rooms so you can easily go backand forth.
