Holy Smokes....

tollerwalker... I'm just outside Dartmouth, near Lawrencetown Beach. But, we have a cottage in St Martins... very close to you!!

And now we have a newcomer, cdotla.. you're in Nova Scotia too??? Wow, wonder what the odds are of more than one Maritimer making it onto the panel?? I wish you both the best of luck..... but I WANT TO MAKE IT!!!

I was actually in St Martins a few weeks ago to take a walk through the caves before winter hits. I used to live in Dartmouth too, off of Auburn Drive. Small world!!

In my opinion, there can never be too many Maritimers...

Yes, I have now officially gone over the edge on this. I keep refreshing my email. Thank God I have a lot to do at work this week And it occurs to me it could very well be next week or even the week after befre we hear anything. Good news is, Dh has promised me a consolation trip if I don't make it . And we weren't suppossed to go again until 2011!

That's wonderful news you to hear you have a consolation trip lined up - if needed! I'm not sure when we'll hear anything back but my guess would be late next week. Anything sooner, would be a bonus in my mind!!

On another note, I mentioned to a couple of my dear friends last week that I moved on to Round 2 in the contest. They were so excited that they both set up shrines in their house, complete with a candle they light whenever they are home (I liked the idea so I set up a shrine as well). And as if that wasn't cute enough, they said they were going to add me to their prayer chain. I told them that might be going a bit overboard, seeing people have so many important things to pray for nowadays but they insisted that prayer chains like to pray for fun stuff too. So needless to say, I've been getting tons of emails from people I've never met. It's really kind of neat. I do worry though that if I don't move on to the next round, we may have a holy war on our hands!

Anyway, continued luck to my fellow 2nd rounders!

AngVen - I am actually *not* a newbie - LOL! I have been on this thread since last year - LOL! And, just to clarify I did not make it to round 2.

However, wanna know something funny? I live about 10 mins away from you!!!!

Promise me that if you make it onto the Panel I can come over for a coffee, pour over your photos and hear all of your stories!!!

Oh, and Tollerwalker - my parents currently live close to Auburn Drive too! I actually lived there when I graduated from High School many years ago! Small world is right!!!

And cdotla... I'm sorry to have missed that you're a long time poster.. I really meant "newcomer" as in "new poster who's moving on to round 2". Seems I messed up on BOTH counts! Sorry! I would LOVE to meet you sometime, seems we probably shop at the same grocery store! Any kids in school in the area? I have one at SRB and one at CHH.

Heather, it's so kind of you to be sharing this experience with us, especially since you went thru it just a year ago. I HOPE HOPE HOPE to get to meet you (and the others) in December. This waiting is really starting to get to me

I have been a bit busy the last couple of weeks and just read all the great news! It's so wonderful you guys get to encourage each other. We (the "Original Twelve") didn't really connect up until after we made it. Best of luck to everyone. I'll bet next year will be even more "celebratory!"

I think only those selected to move on as a finalist will be contacted (at least that is how I interpreted the wording in the confirmation email).
